    Callum Simpson

Great night foŕr him at Oakwell. Watched the entire evening and I think that it's fair to say that he's captured the imagination of the Barnsley public who gave him absolutely tremendous support tonight.

Chelli was an awkward opponent but Callum dealt with him quite comfortably and looked solid over the 12 rounds, the first time he's fought in a 12 round bout as well. We may have potentially a boxing star on our hands. He can and will improve too in my opinion. He conducts himself with a great calmness, he has integrity and has a classy way about him. His words towards the families of the poor souls who lost their lives in the recent road accident at Staincross were class and shows the mentality and maturity of the blowk.

Well done Callum, you are doing yourself and the town proud. Tonight was a huge night for him and he came through it and learned against a difficult opponent.

Boxing at Oakwell will be surely be back if Callum keeps on progressing. Over 7000 there tonight, a sell out, a cracking atmosphere and a great spectacle as a whole on a mild summers evening. They reckoned a few thousand more would have attended had more tickets been sanctioned. As I say, he's well and truly captured the imagination.

Great stuff Pass watched it all and enjoyed every minute.

It all looked well organised so credit to everyone behind the scenes for making it happen.

For the nuterall's watching they must have thought that Oakwell looked an absolute picture, so it’s fair to say something is happening down there on Grove Street.

Yes, agree the scene was a beautiful picture. A packed East Stand bathed in sunshine, the lights, the atmosphere- looked bloody marvellous

Not into boxing, apart from some of the really big fights but watched last night for obvious reasons.

Crowd sounded immense, Oakwell looked great and Callum seemed in control throughout. The event has done the town and club proud.

Loved it around the boozers in town yesterday afternoon.
As per usual it was buzzing.
Great atmosphere - and I would suspect boxing fans coming into Barnsley for the first time were in for a big pleasant surprise.

Didn’t watch the fight cos I’m not a boxing fan - but Callum Simpson, Oakwell, the fans and the town centre have all done Barnsley proud.
