    Lee Carsley new England manager.

    On interim basis at first.

Hope he goes for it like he did with the under 21’s.

Can't deny his success with the U21s and in contrast to Southgate his style of playing is more fluid and attack minded-but has he the experience or nous to deal with either any potential prima donnas within the England team or the added pressures that such a high profile job entails?

Like many, I would have liked somebody like Klopp for the job but that is clearly a rather unrealistic hope. As an interim manager, and with no obvious successor in line to take over the position, Carsley makes sense though and if he does well? We will see.

He’ll be well served by jumping on the first hint of diva behaviour by Bellingham.

There’s an argument for announcing Bellingham as his captain, Kane is fast going over the hill and promoting the lad to captain puts him in a position where he has to lead and hopefully he’ll wind his neck in.

Declan Rice must surely get the captains armband before Bellingham.

That’s okay if you want someone to liaise with the keeper and centre halves Tipp…..Rice is usually stood with them during each match!

I thought your response to this suggestion previously was that you “wanted to punch him” ?

I said he had a face I would gladly punch!

He still has, I don’t believe he’s had plastic surgery since I last saw him!?

He never did that at West Ham where the manager didn't shackle him!

He played deeper at West Ham, it’s widely accepted that Arteta was the manager who got him playing further up the pitch last season.
