I am not sure what he could have done, jonj69. Chong scored from point blank range.

It seemed to me that the defence was the problem. No 22 (Roberts?) ended up with two players to mark. He ends up between both of them, giving the Luton player a free pass back across goal. We should not be leaving players unmarked in the penalty box. The cross to the back post was telegraphed.

As regards Trafford I think his confidence was shattered last season. He was thrown in at the deep end. Hopefully he is getting some of that confidence back, whilst learning.

In the meantime, welcome to Claretsmad. I hope you continue to contribute. It is always good to have blood.

There was one or two players at fault for the goal.
    Trafford wasn't one of them

I thought Muric was better than Trafford but I don't know how our new signings compare, that is for cardy to decide.

Trafford just had one blip, when he came for the cross and missed it. I'm giving him a chance to show he's improving thus season.. ( Unless he's transferred of course)

I think you’ll find that my mate Vitinho was yes you’ve guessed it ball watching again Instead of doing his job - tbf no one went with Chong and he had a tap in.

For me the positive was that when they came out second half to bully us with big long balls and elbows we didn’t fold - quite the opposite tbh we went on the attack- for me anyway that’s what made the performance really good - we could have folded but we didn’t.

What's with you and Vitinho? Surely it was Roberts who went AWOL?

We won 4-1 away at Luton chaps.A bit of perspective please. It was a near perfect performance on what is Scotty`s first game in charge. There were also so many good points within the performance that I wouldn`t criticize anybody.Pires,Weghorst return,O`Shea MOTM,Vitinho playing with swagger,no obvious clangers from the back line,Zaroury back in the team.
Trafford had very little to do which itself is a plus considering how many balls Luton put into the box.

Esteve & O'Shea are a Championship dream pairing at centre-back. I hope we don't have to sacrifice O'Shea to make up the bank balance.

Like Berge it would be suicide. We looked ok without Berge on Monday but just one injury in midfield and we are phooked without back up.If we sell Berge we will need a replacement and if we sell O`Shea for less than £18m we are either skint or bonkers. If the plan is to get back to the PL and we need to sell somebody it shoud be either Berge/Trafford or both.O`Shea seems to be improving all the time.
