    OT- non alcohol beers

I’m drinking 0.0 Guinness atm which is absolutely bang on the same as the original version. I’ve also heard that the 0.0 Stella Artois is the same, excellent. Most 0.0’s are rubbish but these little babies are the dogs. What’s your experience? (btw I love Bathams like Ketts)

Whilst not much of an alternative to a proper pint if I'm the driver a non alcohol beer is my choice rather than a fruit juice or coke. Also keep a few in the fridge if I don't want to keep my alcohol content down.

Had my first Guinness 0.0 last week and also thought it to be very good.

Non alcoholic beers have come a long way since Becks Blue dominated the market but I'm still not a great fan as much prefer the "real" thing. Having said that, they have their place if you have to drive. On those rare occasions when we do go out to a family event and eat I can have two pints over an hour or so and be OK and then change to non alcoholic if I'm driving but don't think I'd fancy just sticking to non alcoholic from the off😁

I had the Guinness when it came out and, as a drinker of the dark stuff anyway, I could certainly tell the difference but it isn't bad and much better than I'd thought it would be. One of the other better non alcoholic ones is the Adnam's Ghostship alternative.

Non alcoholic beers have def improved over the years.

Adnam’s Ghostship is very good, so is Beavertown Lazer Crush. Mikkeller and Omnipollo (Danish resp Swedish craft beer wizards) some very good ones too, though quite expensive.

Tricky isn’t it. We’re all different but I told the wife that’s it now for me, Guinness 0.0 and Stella 0.0 (when I can get some) are my drinks now. I even feel just as relaxed as if it was the real thing. The point is though that it is the real thing minus the alcohol. Guinness spent millions to get the process right and it’s paid off. The guy behind the bar said we had a little competition to see if anyone could spot the difference and the only thing they could come up with was that the 0.0 had a slightly different head colour. A bit darker. I get that it might entice you onto drinking again but for me I don’t need alcohol now the 0.0 Guinness is this good. (The Stella will just give me a couple of choices)

Really like the Guinness, Brewdog's 0% lager is also nice and Freedom 0% lager also good. Waitrose do a 1% cider in a bottle which is lovely in the summer.

Each to their own but I'd rather drink tap water personally, and did just that for a couple of weeks while taking post surgery antibiotics last year.

In well made and good (craft) beers, the alcohol is a carrier of taste, and thus elevates and enhances the taste. That said, non alcoholic versions can never be the same, but, as I and others have stated, they have really improved and there are some really good ones out there.

I think the Guinness 0.0 is the same as the alcohol Guinness Swedish. I used to live in Ireland as well so had it a plenty. They have really done their homework on it. I agree that most non alcohol beers don't come close though.
