Todays site testing...

Weird.

Having waited for the tests to finish I logged in.

1. 10 threads were in bold, indicating new posts. Only 3 of them had new posts.

2. 3 new replies to posts from me came back giving a "database error" message. 1st one I hit enter again and got the "wait 30 seconds" message. I didn't, I hit the refresh button on the Chrome taskbar and my post posted. 2nd and third also delivered a "database error" so I simply hit refresh and, hey presto, they posted.

3. I typed this post and received a new page saying "database error" with a lot of other gubbins on it as well. This is attempt #2 at this post. I'll copy it so, if it fails again I will only have to paste and not retype...

In the Election thread, there's a post of mine from 12:49 PM today but the "Last post by" column on the "front page" shows the most recent post to have been posted by rA at 09:02 this morning.

The site appears to be going through some kind of midlife crisis, not knowing what it's doing or not doing, why that is and then having all manner of anomalies. Time for base Techies to, well, get Techy and sort the problems.

The bosses say... We ran a security update on the boards software and server on Monday 19th Aug.

As a result you may notice that several features are not working as expected (remembering viewed threads etc). Try logging out and back in again, or clearing your browser cache if that doesn’t resolve it.

Now, although I have the remember me set to ON, every time I shut my laptop down, upon starting it again, I always have to log back in. That's been the case for a couple of months now. So much the log out, log in, suggestion.

Just spotted an anomaly. Logged out, deleted Cache and browsing data.

The Election thread on the front page shows a last post by AF at 7:15PM yesterday. I go into the thread and the most recent post is from myself at 3:05PM. Where's AF's post wandered off to?

The Election thread is being ruined at the moment, in terms of debate, as it’s all over the place with contributions randomly disappearing and temporarily reappearing.
I’m also having the same experience as you regarding signing in. It’s nonsense at the moment.
