There is a book out about the above, im sure its a very slim tome.

Im here to report Uniteds greatest moment, not moments, will it be part of the book?, no.

Im also going to report to the world of football ITS GREATEST MOMENT. All of it.

It was a tuesday night, i was late to the game because of shifts, United were playing Huddersfield. All teams played a high line, trying to catch forwards offside.

Trevor Howard got the ball in his own half, you could see the cogs whirring, he lifted the ball, then tapped into the air over the entire Huddersfield team, the ball landing behind the entire team.

While the ball was in the air Howard was charging forward, collected the ball on the other side, the entire Huddersfield team was behind him, all leaving it to someone else.

He ran forward, with the ball, the keeper came charging out......Howard then lobbed him, i went absolutely barmy at such genius. I havent seen better since, neither have you, if you saw it, history was made at the Abbey, the greatest goal of all time.

It shows how poor football is today, that the manager is now a player, on the sidelines, everything is pre planned, pre packaged, do something different and be dropped.

In the old times, players were signed to do their stuff on the pitch, to make decisions,,,,,not the manager. Doing something inductive, brilliant, off the cuff, is not allowed. Oh, to show intelligence, Howards was off the scale.

The ART of football is dead. The greatest moment of all time, the Abbey, about 1973 or 4.
