Wuthering Heights.

I know this is going to be a bit high brow, but oh well.

Wuthering Heights is a book ritten in the 1800s, a love story, i watched the film recently my heart was broken, to love, and be loved back, then not. And then to suffer that as a first love, i was Heathcliffe.

Indeed the setting was the same, the Yorkshire Dales that post code, those fells, stone walls, the hills, paths, out crops, that expression of gods country.

That to love and lose, then be parted from those mountains , the sky, the rain, the sunshine, vast expanse of green, stone houses, caverns, clean air, happy people, long walks alone, mists, log fires, surely such is as big a price to pay.

Tragedy is made of this thing, never to breathe that air again, be free, unleashed, physically and inside, to hear the clunk of boot on stone, to be cold, then warm again.

And to walk away from god voluntarily, that i have done that, and griff, that the tumult of separation, separation from the cumbrain mountains must hurt...badly, but to have done it deliberatley.

Never to walk the 12 miles back from a game, never to walk to Brunton Park again, or cast his eyes up a mountainside, with the mists of eternity clouding the top. Never to walk thee streets again, drink in a pub as you had since the beginning of time.

There is no salve for this sort of pain, the pain of never going back, not in this life, that he was born in heaven.....then walked out. God be with you.
