Jevani Brown, from an ex Cabridge fan.

I notice that youve signed the above lucky you, you must think im being sarcastic im not. This bloke is one of the most talented players ive ever seen, hes playing way below his ability.

He goes past players like they are not there, on the highlights when he was playing for Exeter, he had his back to goal just inside his own half with a defender just behind him, control in one, turned the defender, hit a forty yard perfect pass to a forward who scored.

He has it in his head before he does it. If you get him firing hell make mincemeat of div2, and if i were the county manager i wouldnt have let him leave the building without signing a contract.

There is a sting in the tail, your thread about him below is wrong.....as a footballer anyway.

Was Cabridge where you lived before you moved to Cambridge?

He has shown what he can do with 2 cracking goals against us in that memorable game v Cambridge when we came back from 3-0 down to grab a draw!

I hate to ask, but why are you no longer a Cambridge supporter?

Apart from my early years, the change came after a certain chairman left Cambridge are as bent as it gets, they have had corrupt chairman one after the other eventuly losing the ground. One symptom of how bad things got was paving slabs, i bought two, of course we didnt get them, we got a wooden board with names on it.

I spent a lifetime bank rolling as sholes.

Ive never cheated or lied to anyone, i expect that from others rightly or wrongly., they lost a life long fan.

The current chairman owns the ground, and shows all the signs of being an as shole, he was around when the ground was lost. Hes spent nothing, he signs good players, those other clubs dont want, are old, and injured or all three, and somehow has survived in div1.

He redecorated the Clare College training ground, he has social services for the city, first team investment, no.

The ground is in the city centre, planning applications are going into redevelop it, the footprint is worth mega money, Cambridge is set to boom, off the scale, invest there in property if you want to make money.

The application has taken years, and will continue to do so. The owner will shrug and say its the councils fault when the application is turned down. The university runs the council.

The owner will sell the ground and bulid a cow shed in Coveney, job done. I missed it for a while, now i genuinely dont give a s hit.

They have robbed me over a lifetime.

Brian Clough famously once described football club owners and directors as "idiots". It's pretty much par for the course, I think.

Even in the days of our two most successful chairman, they were not particularly popular apart from the seasons they got promoted (and for about a year or so afterwards). People speak well of them now but Derek Pavis was absolutely hated by some at the time he stepped down. Every owner since then has been fawned over as a saviour and then left under a very dark cloud. It's probably the same at most clubs.

I imagine a lot more lifelong supporters would walk away at some point if it wasn't for the fact they have children or grandchildren who have caught the bug and then you still get to see it through their eyes, in the way you once did, when it was all about the players and the anticipation and excitement of match day, not the grim realities of day to day business and inevitable cycles of longer term failure and frustration following the brief spells of success and overachieving .

As a lifelong supporter i have never had any any dislike of DP, quite the opposite. If not for his great forsight (along with Mr Parker and Mowlem construction)we would not have a fabulous Meadow Lane Stadium, there would be not much for the Reedz brothers to invest in, so big thanks DP and RIP.
