Liverpool FC legend Ron Yeats has sadly passed away aged 86 on Friday 6th September 2024.
The former Liverpool centre-half had in recent years been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
Born 15 November 1937 - Died 6 September 2024.
Bill Shankly the Liverpool manager signed Ron Yeats from Dundee United in 1961, while
Liverpool were in the old 2nd division, for a fee of £22,000.
After a few month's Ron Yeats was made captain.
Ron Yeats became the keystone of Shankly's Liverpool defence, to which they gained promotion
back into the old 1st division in the 1960's.
In 1964 Shankly decided that the team would play in a all red kit, Shankly thought the red kit
would carry a psychological impact, red for danger, red for power.
After leaving Liverpool to play for other teams, Ron Yeats returned to Anfield to take up the job
of chief scout 1986 to 2006.
A legend at Anfield, & a legend in football.
