    Difference from last season

We have replaced our 2 weakest positions with much stronger players.

    Left Back and Striker.

I know Maja was already at the club, but if we can do that every transfer window we won't be doing too badly in the future.

Its now hard to see a real weakness in the first XI or subs available. Whereas last season it was much easier to see where we were short.

I suppose lets not get too giddy, its still early days and Plymouth could bring us down to earth this weekend.

The 2 players that dictated the pace of our play Kipre and Yokuslu have left, we look far more mobile in midfield, we have a threat from both wings and now a striker that brings it all together, I agree Heggam is a big upgrade on Townsend, we look so good on the break away from home this season last season most teams came to the Hawthorns and sat behind the ball it will be interesting to see if we can create more chances this season, we did play very well against Swansea in the first half, weather we are quite good enough to go straight up I'm not sure but we certainly shouldn't fear anyone else in this division.

I like the look of Racic, probably end up a permanent fixture in the team, also I’ve been critical of Furlong and rightly so at times but credit where credit’s due he’s upped his game considerably and this season has looked the part

I've not seen enough of Racic yet, but it would be hard to drop Molumby and Mowatt from the side the way they've started.

Pretty much every position has competition now. Always interesting in how that gives a real kick up the arse and performances improve.

Really impressed by Maja. Didn’t expect him to be as good as he is.

    I agree.

Racic is a huge unit, I wonder about his ability to do 90 minutes.

He’s probably a very good bet to come on as the opposition are tiring as he’s done in his first two matches.

What I find interesting are some of the comments by Carlos himself around the style of play. Very clearly he operated under tight financial constraints last season and was unable to bring in players he would have liked but with the new ownership this season there seems a definite willingness and plan to rebuild a squad more suited to the kind of football he wants us to play. Financial constraints are still there of course, but the style so far has been less tippy-tappy and far more fluid which is obviously pleasing for us fans -an aim that Corberan has also expressed. So far, so good!

Definitely more balance and love the style of play. Maja is terrific and what was missing and Heggem twice the player of Townsend.

Love Palmer but it’s only a matter of time before we concede a goal with dangerous footwork in front of goal. Whilst I agree Maja needs to be rested at times but don’t get Wallace coming on to play up front - he’s not good enough! Will be happy when Dike is back to alternate between him and Maja.

Honestly don’t see any reason why we can’t finish in the top two! Well done Carlos and pleased for Grant too!

Regarding Grant, I don't think it is a foregone conclusion that Johnston will always replace him once he is up to speed. Being in a situation where we have decent competition for places is a good place to be in. Corberan is very much about the squad/team rather than the individual so factors such as selecting his starting eleven based on the strengths/weaknesses of the opposition along, of course, with managing game time all come into it.

Managing to sign Mikey was a great move and I'm sure we all hope that he can replicate those early performances for us from last season but if Grant continues to demonstrate the desire and work rate he has done so far, then he will continue to feature and I hope he is rewarded by more goals. As per the other thread, it's great to now have a more natural goal scorer in Maja but we've demonstrated that plenty of others can contribute in that department.

Oh, and I'm sure we all agree with you about that particularly worrying aspect of Palmer's game Al! I'm sure Carlos has already had a word though 😁

There’s a feel of good decision making now. Can you imagine what state we would be in now if Lai was still in charge? What kind of replacements would we have got if any?
