Club Statement now confirming the West Brom has died at the match. This happened five rows in front of us and many were in tears as it was heartbreaking with coats and banners covering him!
Shame on the paramedics for taking so long to get to him and the referee not stopping the match.
RIP to the fan. The result becomes irrelevant as it’s so sad. Still feel shook up seeing it!

Thoughts with the family and friends
Wherever you are, having a heart attack is never good but a football ground should be a place where you have the best chance of receiving quick treatment. From reports, it seems that Sheffield Wednesday are well behind where they should be in this respect. There’s no knowing, though, if anything could be done for the unfortunate man but I think that the sad episode reflects badly on SWFC’s stewards and medics, but especially on the referee for not stopping the game, he must surely have been aware of the problem, as it’s not an unusual event these days.
Anyway, my heartfelt condolences go out to the man’s family, a tragic day for them.
This is terrible news to hear, Rip fellow baggie.
Very sad indeed, unfortunately unless you're in a hospital you have a 10% chance of survival according to the BLS training I did a year or two ago.
The father of an ex girlfriend of mine was stood with friends at Hagley railway station talking and collapsed.
People rushed to help him including trained station staff but they couldn’t save him.
When the autopsy was done the coroner told his wife that he was dead before he hit the ground and that he’d have felt nothing, it was like turning off a light because the heart attack was so massive.
My wife’s grandad walked into breakfast at a hotel and the same happened to him, gone in a nano second.
It’s hard to comprehend though how stewards in a football stand can’t get their act together in a situation such as yesterday, they’re quick to pounce if you try to vape or stand up too often.
Sounds like some were hiding from responsibility yesterday maybe, possibly scared of the situation.
Maybe so, but it's not an everyday event so who knows how they would react when faced with the real thing, whereas stopping vaping is just routine.
