We're equal 3rd for the most losses so far this season.

Now when you read that stat, it doesn't sound that bad. What we have though is all those having lost less are all in the top 9.
Of the 9, Lincoln, Blackpool and Mansfield sit amongst them, yes who'd have thought it, those 3 in the top 5 so far.

We are however =1st for drawing the most and that is what has to change if we are to climb the table. It's okay to take a point away from home but, not if your playing anyone in the bottom 6.

Having travelled to both Exeter and Wycombe and watched the games, they were both winnable. The glaring factor was the team formations in both games, pants! That lies squarely at Evans feet/door. Tactics can change any game and for me he seems to have lost his flair/mojo, and I hate to say it, even the modern game since he was last here. Dinosaur tactics, hoofball, will get us nowhere. Using outdated, if there is actually any coming from Raynor, coaching methods, will see us struggle to stay up never mind reaching the safety of mid table.

The introduction of wing play in the second half yesterday, clearly altered our dynamic as we took the game to the Shrews in the second half and that for me is what he has to start using going forward. Who he drops to bring this in is down to him but lord oh lord, cut out the hoofball or we are destined for League 2.

Imo. Most important battle in this league is the midfield.
Looking back over the past 10 years.
Barlaser, frecklington, arni all dominated our cm with players buzing around them. Control the middle and the rest takes care of itself.
2nd important is the height of the squad for set pieces.. those can give the team loads of goals.

Looking back since we have been at NYS. How many players have we had who could get 20 a season. This season we probably have with jch but the other factors are missing.

I've said it several times. We need a midfield of hungbo, Holmes Kelly and Powell.
To cover the height issue we have to get and keep raggett in the squad. And imo play odoffin at the side of him. I like Humphrey calmness on the ball and his pace but his style is more suited to a back 3.. if Evans wants to try the back 3 again. Humphrey, raggett and James may be the better option but would need homes and bramhall as the wingbacks

Cayton, WE can see the need for wingbacks and the set up you suggest so, why shouldn't the 'MORE EXPERIENCED' who know more than the fans, not know or see this?
