Thread: Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

They should have taken the £70m and invested in their team. A lot of egos at play there.

They can’t be seriously still looking for £70mil can they?

Eddie clearly rates him so I'd be surprised if we didn't go back in for him in January (although they might still have no inclination to sell).

I'd like to think we'd offer one take it or leave it price and have other options lined up, unlike the last window.

I doubt they’ll sell in Jan with relegation a possibility. Of their CBs present and past, Andersen is playing the best by far at the moment.

I think we'll be back in for him to be honest.

However, we better not go anywhere near £70 million for him.

Be another 6 months off his contract with no new one signed and he's not been a colossus at the back for them this season.

I'd be annoyed if we to far north of £40 million for him - to be honest, I think 40 is to much but with all the added on taxes of England internation, prem player and knowledge we want him I expect that be where it ends up around.

    I hope we stay clear.
They’ll be hoping we come back in and try and milk us for as much as possible… because he will go for a lot less in the summer if he hasn’t signed a new contract.

If we repeat the summer and waste another transfer window chasing a player with an unrealistic price tag then that’d not be accepted by the fans… the reaction from the fans after a poor summer was great, the club should any take it for granted that a repeat would have the same response.

In fairness, I think this Summer has probably messed with his head a bit and Palace are a bit of a shambles at the minute generally so it's harder to judge him fully.

I think he's a very good CB with the potential to be great (or is he good with the potential to be very good...I dunno ) and Eddie obviously thinks he'd be a great partner for Botman.

For me Southgate’s team selection and tactics made him look a lot better than he actually is.

Bramble would look good in a Southgate team 😉

I think Guehi is a good defender, but he’s neither world class or a ‘generational talent’.

Would have been nowhere near 60k before the summer, would have topped out around 50 in a bidding war taking into account he’s English so helps satisfy on the home country players in a squad requirement.

I think you are right. He does seem like he doesnt want to be on the field.
