Everyone slagging us off on here today but a lot more effort from most players. Let's face it we are never going to be a great footballing side with this lot so just be thankful for three points all be it against a pretty poor reading side

A touch of deja vue about this one as again we come from 1-0 down at NYS to win 2-1 against 10 men. Because of our abject away form it's a rare two wins on the trot and 7pts from the last 9 so what's not to like about that? Quite a bit if the in match comments are anything to go by. Still in 17th place but quite a gap opening up at the bottom as we are closer on points to a playoff place than a relegation spot.
Thoughts on today's win?

Wilks never in the game what was Evans * about at leaving him on so long. No width no right sided player to give us more options on free kicks corners. We won but we didn't make many more chances than two we scored.
Poor first half. Both sides useless. Went at them in the second half and fully deserved it. It’s slowly coming together.
Will step up once Teihi is out if the side. Offers nothing and hides for the majority of the game.
McCart and Humphries outstanding.
Looking how we finished the game at Cambridge, with more forthright attacking in the second half, you would have thought Evans would have started with that set up. Nope, back to square one hoofball in the first half and having just heard Evans' post match interview, he said he couldn't understand why the boos rang out at half time....really? Piss poor.
Second half - more aggression, more in the tackle, on comes Bramall and they couldn't deal with his pace. Powell's crossing was 3.0 -5.0 at best first half then, he pulls a rabbit out of the hat and drills a beauty into the path of Nombe, MOTM and rightly so. Suddenly we look like a team who wanted more and it took all of 7 minutes before Hakeem rose to plant one in....at last! Subs galore made but we made it look hard against 10 men with 22+ extra time to go.
Anyway, we got it over the line, we scored 2 yes 2 goals, bar the goal difference we're now 3 points of the last play off spot. How daft does that sound from 3 games ago. I'm sure others will add plenty more to this thread so over to them. Me, I'm a happy Miller tonight.
NB. What a little powerhouse Holmes is. Show him open grass and he's off with direct play straight at the opposition net. Could have maybe had a goal or two had he shot earlier. Such a breath of fresh air this lad brings to the side, a no fear factor built into him.Play him more!

Thought we were the better team for the majority of the match. Their free kick for the goal looked like it was an air short from the Reading player. Was there a foul?
Nombe did well and was deserving of motm.
Could have had a couple more towards the end but decided to make it difficult for ourselves and making it more tense than what it should have been.
Strange game think we just about deserved it through shear guts to come from a goal down Nombe had a great game JCH very average and Wilks similar I’d like to see Hungbo given a run instead of Wilks just to give opposition something to think about Nombe doing the work of 3 up front
North West Corner Teihi is a bit of a mystery to me he does the “mucky”job and goes under the radar a bit thing is he and Haks are very similar who funnily enough thought was poor today other than his goal!
Defensively sound today Powell is class but again the set pieces need work
Even though he sent one of theirs off(don’t know why cos he pushed one of ours over? was in west stand so hard to see) thought Ref was shocking and Lino on family stand side seemed happy sticking flag up for offside or not
So 10 games in and we are very average positives are can’t get worse (hopefully)
There’s a team in there somewhere hopefully SE will put a bit more faith in likes of Holmes (who did well when he came on looked like he was in middle of park) and Hungbo we do miss Kelly even though he’s old eh Gru Raggett too although McCart has done nowt wrong
Think i was at a different game to the folks watching on the match day thread.
Thought we battles and closed down reading . We played the ball on the floor and mixed it up when we needed to go long.
Nombe ran the reading defence ragged...
McCart didn't put a foot wrong. The rest worked extremely hard and deserved the win.
Negatives.
Dawson should have saved the wing goal
Rafferty started slow but built into the game. I don't like tithe and oddofin as the 2 CM..
Jch needs to have a look at himself in the mirror.
7 points from 9 and the fans are still slating the negatives over the positives...
Wrexham next up at home.
If we play a 1st half against them like we did today we could really be in trouble.
2nd half much better but how many times do we pass up or mess up the chance to put the ball in the box.
The 2 best crosses of the game and we score from them.
Simple game isn't it?
7 points from 9,which given the situation a couple of weeks ago was the least we needed, the team is STILL crying out for some width, has been for a season and half, but we did win after a better second half.
Nombe,Haks and James did well, but we still look a poor side at times,I suspect we will slowly climb the table, and maybe push the top 6 come March.
