    FAO Sota and family

Gods prayers to you and yours my friend with the impending hurricane heading your way.

I know you’re well into the building trade and know how to protect your property but hope everything turns out okay for you all.

Florida is the sunshine state but it be be so devastating when it comes to hurricane season.

Thanks very much mate. We’re still reeling from Helene just 2 weeks ago. The storm surge from that one has devastated the beaches and many coastal properties. We are 16 feet above sea level and over one mile inland so we should be ok flooding wise but still at risk from the wind.

My old school mate is on holiday in Orlando and due to visit us on Sunday. He booked to go to Halloscream and the parks and a Tampa Lightning hockey game but he’ll be lucky to do any of it, poor bugger.

Fingers, toes and owt else crossed. Thanks again Brin.

What I've seen on the TV these past few days haven't looked good at all. Although the category 5 hurricane decreased to a 3, it still looked pretty bad.

Just waiting on Sota to post his family and his good self are all okay. Fingers crossed for them all.

I've now seen a message on Sota's Facebook page saying they're OK. (That was about 7pm Thursday evening in Florida - midnight in UK.) No power and some damage to the house but doesn't sound too serious.

As he said "What an experience. More stressful than watching Rotherham United"!
