What a great position to be in

Corberan on the owners and his relationship:

We are talking in detail and when they come here I always spend time with them, I like to spend time with the people in charge and they want to spend time with me. We like to spend time talking about the vision and the project and evaluating things we do as a club.

Every relationship tends to be nicey nicey but let’s not forget football is a results driven business. With any manager if they don’t achieve the goals then they are out the door. It’s a fact of life and as it should be in any results driven business whether it’s Asda or West Brom. The captain of the ship must produce and no doubt Patel will want the play offs as a minimum objective.

The point is really that there was no chance of anything like this with Lai. This is music to our ears.

Lai just stripped the club and had no interest. Peace did the same thing but was very clever in doing it.

Whilst Patel will want the club to progress ( obviously as he’s a businessman) - he’s astute enough to know the infrastructure needs to be built plus he seems genuine and cares. That said he no doubt will be hoping we challenge for promotion this season and why shouldn’t he!

I agree will all that’s been said, however only time will tell how much credit Corberan has in the bank if this dreadful, boring non football continues, as with all teams the next coach/manager will have been thoroughly researched

You’re right Bomber. Football is an entertainment business. Yes Sunderland have lost but almost every game the football is exciting. I did think the boring sideways slow football was beyond us from last season but no. I like Carlos but in the last three games he does need to look in the mirror.
