    O/T 2 tier policing.

Thought this had better be put on its own, rather than contaminate another thread.
We have already had discussions on it, but I found this rather disturbing the other day.
Rick Prior, the Metropolitan Police Federation Chairman Suspended After Controversial Interview.

Now where the Met is concerned, I have seen many accusations of the Met is institutionally racist etc.
Is this now the result and what is the law to an individual? If this is true, then whole system is nackered and broken.
The riots definitely showed me personally, that there is a hesitancy to jump in hard, depending on who is doing the rioting.

The NHS is well known for punishing whistle blowers,, Are the police the same?

If what he said is true, it's a very disturbing trend suspending people for telling the truth.

Given the phrase 2 tier policing is a false trope pushed by Farage and other even less reputable activists/**** stirrers, I'd ahve thought this was a thread that should be removed for spreading malicious untruths?

Plus what has the issue got to do with the thread title anyway?

Exactly the point. If this has any grounds, then it is another aspect of the idea of 2 tier policing.
Those that deny 2 tier policing, don't speak for the whhole country.
Many in the country think there is a problem.

What a load of cobblers, people who think that 2 tier policing is a thing are people like you, they don't think, thy just swallow whatever *******s Farage and other idiots are pushing out on the internet or via Geebeebies.

Maybe if the some Met officers, didn't strip search 14 year old black girls or routinely pull over black people because their driving a BMW, or maybe if they didn't rape or kill young women or pass the pictures of dead black women around a Whatsapp group etc. etc. then some of the might not be considered to be bigoted racists?

For those who deny by semantics, I think 2-tier is a misnomer but there certainly seems to be an unwritten difference in approach to certain ‘groups’. This article though is more about cancel culture - essentially, if you offer a non-PC (no pun) opinion, even if it’s shared by either the majority or a significant minority, you’re a goner

Could you back this up with some facts? What exactly is it that you can no longer say or do without becoming a ‘goner’?
So we’ve, largely, moved on from approval/acceptance of derogatory language and prejudicial behaviour towards people of different cultures, colour, gender and ***ual orientation. Isn’t that a good thing?
So how else has your behaviour been impacted by those you regard as being overly ‘PC’?
I genuinely don’t know…I mean, shortly before coming on holiday I went to see Ben Elton. He ripped into everyone and everything…from Farage/Reform UK to those who try and implement ‘cancel culture’ etc. He seems to be doing okay…just extended his tour I think…so far from being a ‘goner’.

Mm, you mean groups like for example men and white people who lets be clear have enjoyed considerable privilege and power and have for many years behaved in an unacceptable way to people that were "different" either by reason of ***, race, religion etc. are now complaining that they are having to show a bit of respect and understanding to these "different" people?

IN this instance the guy is being totally unprofessional on a deliberately provocative and lets be real here, on a media outlet whose sole aim is to reinforce prejudice and stereotyping in order to stir up resentment amongst those who are only to eager to blame "other" people for whatever is wrong in life.

There are undoubtedly arguments that in certain areas there are people, the "jobsworths" who delight in being over zealous, but that's the case in any area of life. But then there are many examples and instances which demonstrate that outdated attitudes are still prevalent and especially in the Met Police where there has been some truly shocking examples against both people on the grounds of their race, *** or ***uality.

Those that have been cancelled has been down to their actions or a failure to recognise societal norms have moved on.

Loving one’s fellow humans is a good thing but I don’t think ‘we’ have moved as far as you think. I can’t think of the last time I employed a contractor who didn’t demonstrate derogatory language or prejudicial behaviour of some sort against ‘minorities’ (including those who themselves are minorities), these days the public pronouncements are less but the nudge nudge wink wink element is still widely in evidence depending on the company we keep.
