Anyone on here think the UK should pay trillions in reparations.?

I'll no go Doon the usual route of why no but is it no aboot time our PM and king said not now, not ever now **** off......this has been rumbling on for years now and it's starting to hack me off.

And if the UK is gonna pay it to the commonwealth would the Highlands of Scotland not be due millions for the clearances.

It's baffling to me why our govt entertains this ****e when the more you entertain it the more the likelihood it will happen.

We are having to pay millions trying to save the world from climate change.

We continually pay billions in foreign aid to relatively wealthy countries.

We were the country who spent millions ending the transatlantic slave trade.

We started the commonwealth of nations that lots of Carribbean countries benefitted from.

We saved the world from the real Nazis ( Yankee helping hand ) which we only recently paid off the debt for.

Just now and then we should just say **** off you ungrateful ****s.

Annoys me.

I think it is a problem that lawyers have taken up. We need some way to shut down the possibility of legal fees being generated.

Annoys me too! For a lengthy period of time c. 2000 years ago the Romans took countless slaves during their occupation of Britain. Maybe a claim against modern day Italy would be appropriate.

The most appropriate quote about this whole nonsense is " why should people of the present day in the UK who have never owned slaves or directly benefited from slavery pay reparations to citizens of other countries who themselves have never been slaves". Sums it up for me.

It's absolute nonsense....but it's being indulged.

Used to laugh at these things but in a country where we are being told to cut our cloth, expect to be taxed to the hilt for poor public services, don't expect to pass on wealth to our kids and freeze or pay thru the nose to save the planet I find these things obscene now......and we have a weak govt and a foreign secretary who are weak enough to indulge this.

That's the point. Inherited wealth is the only link, so it is about money. Surely you can't say the successive generations did nothing to earn their own living?
