All part of a season unfortunately. I always look at the injured list of players on the FotMob app which is outstanding for stats on every level and every team has an injured list. Bit unfortunate to have a few in the same department though.

We’ll have to play Holgate and Heggem at the centre of defence and Styles at left back. Let’s hope that we don’t pick up any more injuries in this area.

Certainly unfortunate that our injury list comprises mostly of our defensive players, particularly CB position but with Caleb Taylor out on loan I guess Corberan won't have much choice but to go with a back four of Furlong, Holgate, Styles and Heggem.

Thought Styles sounded as if he did ok yesterday and whilst I was never greatly impressed with Holgate when he was with us before, hopefully he can do a job for us. Think we definitely miss Kipre and could do with a decent replacement for him as a central defender. Bartley can be effective but age is catching up with him and whilst Ajayi can spot and play some nice forward passes, his defensive play worries me with too many careless mistakes.

Currently, of course, our main concern is our inability to put the ball in the net in front of goal but whilst our defensive record is good, I'm becoming equally worried about our central defence going forward.

At least we created chances yesterday and if we can keep doing that, the goals will come. Just need to stop reverting to all this ponderous build up play all the time, get more players forward and speed things up. I know this increases the risk of losing possession but we all know that a high possession percentage in itself does not guarantee wins.

Good sum up Omeg, I think Heggem will do great in the centre. Holgate will be ok I’m sure, did what Furlong did last week with a well timed tackle in the box that could have resulted in a goal. Styles looks neat and passes well, still not seen much of his defensive attributes as there are a number of players now who take the fullback position depending on whether the full backs have been attacking or not. I’m sure things will work out soon and we’ll go on a run. Two things, with Corberan we don’t get a poor run of defeats as we might have had in the past and conversely we often go on a good run. These are good times. Just reminding ourselves of the likes of Bruce or Pardew can be a quick reality check before we even think of Lai.
