Why are we playing Sunday when dabs are away

Is it just to get an extra days rest?

    Effects crowd and atmosphere.

I think it may be to do with VAR officials as cup games are on

If that's the reason then that's just farcical.....there's normally 5 games on a Saturday, why shud 1 semi final on a Saturday effect us

I seem to remember that both clubs wanted the game on 11th January 2025 moved to this date as they both have a free weekend thanks to the League Cup semi finals.
It is certainly more sensible playing this game at the start of November than on 11th January 2025 when the weather can be a lot colder.

The point of the thread/question isn't why the game has been moved from January (old news) it is why is it played on the Sunday this coming weekend rather than the Saturday. I agree with the OP regarding better crowd and atmosphere if it had been on the Saturday. I can only think with Wednesday games this midweek and next midweek free for both clubs the Sunday gives better recovery time, 4 days, instead of the 3 days if it had been the Saturday.

    As above.

With Killie also playing weds it should not make a difference but fans seem to be the last consideration.

Lower home support, lower away support, quiet atmosphere......not a good mix when fans are getting a bit edgy

Perhaps they are not allowed to play rearranged league games on a Saturday.
Last season we played a rearranged game against Livingston on a Sunday afternoon in November with from memory a 2pm kickoff.
Neil Doncaster of the SPFL should be able to explain why this weekend’s rearranged home game against Kilmarnock is being played on Sunday instead of Saturday with a 3pm kick off.
