It's starting to look like AHH this waiting on him was the wrong move
I get so ****ing frustrated with "window dosent shut till August " , "plenty time ", " there's still free agents " every frigging season.
Players need a pre season and no matter how much they claim to have kept fit they just don't, then they ain't match sharp, then any wee niggle keeps them out for 2 or 3 weeks.
They knew Luke was going, Fraser deal shud have been done and no waiting, waiting, waiting.
Did I mention I get frustrated
The way the club handled the McCowan transfer, or rather the timing was beyond foolish. It makes me think that the aim was to get the cash for McCowan. Our performances have dropped off the cliff since he has gone. Nelms was suckered at the Hendry transfer and he has done it again. And as you say, so far, we can only assume that Fraser is another injury prone expense. What I saw of him I liked but he has barely featured and we were left last Saturday with as weak a midfield. second half, as I can remember in many years of following this club. Any notion of ' making do without McCowan was naive and may very well come back to haunt us.
Alternatively the McCowan money has been held back to try to balance the books at the end of this financial year ending 31st May 2025.
Nelms stated in the Dundee Football Club Limited annual accounts for the year ending 31st May 2023 that the club would continue to make the same losses (£2.8 million) for the next two financial years which are the years ending 31st May 2024 and 2025 before the figures begin to improve.
I can only assume that Nelms’s optimism on a reduction in annual losses commencing the financial year ending 31st May 2026 is based on his new stadium at Campy Nou being built and ready for use at the beginning of August 2025!
The £1 million plus received from Celtic for McCowan is an unforeseen bonus as McCowan could have left for nothing at the end of his contract in June 2025.
