So its apparent there is a section of the fan base that is starting to grumble about Warne, I know there are some on here who don't "warm to him" though for me my judgement on a football manager/head coach has always been whether he does the job he has been employed to do, rather than his likeability or otherwise.

Its funny how past achievements are quickly forgotten as IMO, entitled fans feel their team should be doing much better. I guess that the way for many fans.

Most realistic fans surely know that this season is work in progress, with the main aim being to avoid relegation and continue to develop a team that is capable of making a promotion challenge. For me Warne has to date done what's expected of him.

He had a good transfer window, albeit it wasn't possible to sign a striker that will get double figures in a season, but then given the budget that was always going to be difficult. I don't expect this issue to be resolved in the January transfer window either, a striker of the quality required rarely becomes available mid season at an affordable price. Perhaps however a good loan signing will be possible.

Overall we are where I expected the team to be in what is a very tight division. Yes we need to pick up points to maintain our position but murmurings about changing the manager are surely ludicrous at this stage of the season?

Warne deserves a season in the championship and a review of where Derby are next May.
