Wrexham have sold a minority club stake to the Allyn family, who owned global medical device company Welch Allyn for more than a century. The Allyn family of Skaneateles, New York sold the company in 2015 and now focus on "purpose-driven investments in private and public markets".
They will join Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who officially became majority owners of the club in February 2021, in owning a stake in the north Wales side.
In a joint statement, Wrexham co-chairmen McElhenney and Reynolds said: "Wrexham has earned the world’s attention and we are focused on bringing on board world-class partners to help with the next phase of our growth.
"We have been fortunate to get to know the Allyn family and we are blown away by their intelligence, kindness and commitment.
"They are exactly the type of partners we will need for this amazing endeavour."
It doesn't happen if you've got a closed door!
Not sure selling your club off to Americans is progress, Birmingham City got relegated.
Didn't Harrogate knock them out of the cup this week and the manager is getting out of contract players...
Cayton, I'd rather see my club to be progressing like they are than being stagnate like we are. As for out of contract players, it's called balancing the books after large spending by the co-owners, nothing wrong with that, and their league position is very healthy indeed.
I'll put a simple question out there to all Millers fans?
Would you like to see outside investment be allowed to come in to support Tony Stewart in order to take our club forward?
I'd like a German style minimum-51% fan ownership model. I'd like it to be mandated for all clubs, but if we're part of a smaller group of clubs I'd rather be on that side of it. I don't like elite football because of what it's become and how it impacts the lower divisions, I wouldn't choose foreign investment, I wouldn't want a Mike Ashley, and I don't like this archaic local businessman, sole ownership model. Club identity matters more to me than success, but the two can happen together.
