I'm sure many of you remember those far off days when you would queue up outside the local newsagent after a match, especially if we had won, to get the Argus.
Some of you may still hold fond memories of taking your football rattles to a match!!!
What about taking bovril in your flask. A lot of fans did that - you could smell it all around the stand, plus cigarettes and beer.
I miss seeing that alphabetical score board box in the Woodman corner with the throstle on top of it. And that perimeter wall that has kids we would sit on behind the advertising boards. We were so near the pitch that we had easy access to the bloke selling orange juice from his cinema type tray around his neck
The kicking of the corrugated metal at the back of the brummie, it made a right old racket.
After a great win we would often wonder if the game would be on Star Soccer on the following Sunday afternoon with Hugh Johns, but we were rarely on as it always seemed to be Derby County featuring Alan Hinton (from Wednesbury) in his white boots

A neighbour, when I was in my ****s in Halesowen, would sometimes take me to the Hawthorns using one of his four season tickets, he and his pal would take flasks with them, no Bovril though, they had whisky in theirs! He had his seats next to the old press box in the Halfords.
This has got me thinking back, I remember all the old fellas walking up the road in long macs and galosher over shoes, wonder what ever happened to them haven’t seen any in years? also the old boy who used to sit next to us in the old Halfords lane stand, always kept his programme pristine between two pieces of glass, imagine trying to get into the ground today with a couple of pieces of glass!
Arriving well before 3 to get a good spot. Hence an atmosphere 1/2 hour before kick off.
Brummie so packed the gangways were blocked. Imagine H&S allowing that now.
Being able to estimate how big the crowd was by how deep the p1ss was in the gents.
Several times my mate and I walked to the ground with Dennis Clarke, chatting and being in awe that were with an Albion player. Also on a couple of occasions Bobby Hope would be walking his dogs in the park at the back of my mom and dad's house and would cross a few balls for us to try and head a goal between jumper goal posts. Great memories.
A packed bus and the excitement of getting off to go in the brummie end. The excitement when the ball landed at Willie Johnstons feet, I remember the Jonnie walkers sign and the score box. 60’s and 70’s mainly. Good times, then the long bus trip back and the pink newspaper checking the results, and what the overall picture meant. Happy days.
