O/T:- Media portray Israeli fans as victims

I'm sure that many of you have seen the report about Israeli fans being attacked in Holland, well it seems the Israeli's brought it on themselves. Booing the minutes silence for Spain's flood victims and chants such as 'there are no schools in Gaza coz we killed all the kids', going on a rampage outside the stadium then getting their arses kicked.

I usually despise Owen Jones but he is right with his stance on Gaza et al and I do believe, that you can validly criticise and condemn Israel, without being antisemitic.

Why do Jews and the mainstream media, constantly portray Jews as victims when they behave like this and I've seen it in other places when travelling.

On a separate not, have a squint at this

I don't think anyone deserves to be run over...

Whilst their behaviour might not be good, that is for the police and authorities to stop, not some random in a car

Hopefully not meant like this but, as much as I am repulsed by the actions of the Israeli state and many Israelis who support them I find references to Jews in this way distasteful. It's profiling by religion not actions.

Wow ........that reads like an article from Der Sturmer . I don't think Jews, especially those living in London, would recognise your characterisation of the MSM

I suppose it beats getting your news from 30p Lee.

People can create a case it was a massive AS attack but the Israeli fans are of an age where they are doing or will have done national service with the IDF. We have seen them cause trouble before, in Athens, and if you want evidence of the way their government protects them from any responsibility for their actions, look no further than the story of the English girl gang raped in Cyprus by young Israelis, who went on to be the one found guilty.

Spare me the lecture about hating Jews, btw, I didn't even mention them until this sentence. Jews and Israelis are two separate groups.

I thought I'd made my view on the separation of Jews v Israel clear in both the title and the body of the thread.

My dig was at the media which none of the respondents have even mentioned in their rush to be offended. Gangs of Israeli thugs, chanting obscene songs about war crimes in Gaza, run amok in another country and it's a 'pogrom', an antisemitic act when they get a reaction, it was no such thing.

I doubt if you currently live in Golders Green, that you would appreciate your subtle distinction between religion, and state.

I suspect there won't be many Jews ( not Israelis) in central London this afternoon

Jews and Israelis are two separate groups? If only you’d told the attackers driving around Amsterdam talking about a “Jew hunt”. Or the terrorists who boasted about killing Jews on October 7.

Maccabi Tel Aviv fans have a horrible reputation in Israel, BTW, second only to Beitar Jerusalem for their vile racism. Weirdly, they still have Arab fans in the city.

There are thugs in every country who seek any opportunity for a tear up and let's not forget how many Muslims there are in Europe now which possibly, explains some of the actions? It was the perfect opportunity for Muslims to exact some kind of revenge on 'Jews' though obviously I have no proof that this is what happened.

As with many things all is not as B&W as with Notts. Whilst my sympathies lie with Israel, their right to have a state (though it was done badly), the Palestinian (Iran's) obstinacy in agreeing to a Palestian state etc I am disgusted at the ever increasing violence towards civilians in Gaza and now Lebanon (was a friendly western facing country in my time). Obviously hindered by groups developing their command centres in civilian infrastructure whose sole purpose is to drive Israel out and get rid of a lot of Jews in the process.

A surprising development however is the recent fatwa denouncing the Oct 7th attacks in the first place:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cj4vw1l8xvdo

The most prominent Islamic scholar in Gaza has issued a rare, powerful fatwa condemning Hamas’s 7 October 2023 attack on Israel, which triggered the devastating war in the Palestinian territory.

I wonder how long Professor Dr Salman al-Dayah will now last.
