    Weston McKennie

I?m watching on delay (so circumstances may have changed since!), but Weston McKennie just played a belter of a ball in for Christian Pulisic to score for the USA against Jamaica in a quarterfinal in the CONCAF version of the Nations League.

Still seems to be carrying a bit too much timber for a professional footballer, but he wasn?t totally horrible for us, even if he did jump ship (or was pushed) once our Premier League jolly went sour.

Aaronson coming on in a double substitution (including double-wide McKennie). Better not get injured…

I think the issue with Mckennie was a cost benefit analysis. He was expensive for his ability.

I think what troubles a lot of supporters is that players like him take PT from youth players that have much more upside, and frankly, the potential for a profitable sale. we had no chance to make money on him while we had people in the youth ranks that were probably close to breaking through. it's an age old debate of how hard to push the youth up.

    Pretty accurate assessment.

Reminds me a little of Rutter in terms of playing style (not entirely predictable), but life moves on.

Decent foot skills, sees the game around him well and usually has good distribution, but that wasn't what was needed by us at the time.

I don't tend to go out of my way to watch the US national team (or MLS) over here, but I'm interested to see if Poch can put together a cohesive team from the strange mixture of talents he has at his disposal.

Jamaica didn't offer too much (and the weather didn't help), but it was something to pass the time on a Monday night.

Aaronson didn't seem to get injured...

Think the USMNT gets stuck in ruts in player selection (like many others). It's also important to note that our MLS is a lower professional division skill wise. Over the years I've tried to peg it against the FA. I think it's equivalent to Lg1 or maybe the Scottish prem. The good news is that it's starting to get some pretty intense rivalries. That's a good thing for the sport and player development. Playing in intense rivalries speeds up development of young players.

Unfortunately, it will always be joke of a league. No relegation or promotion makes it more like a Harlem globetrotters exhibition league than a real football league.

I have seen him play a few times for Juventus and he looks a different player than the burger enthusiast that ambled around the pitch in a Leeds shirt.

Watched him away at West Ham when our inevitable drop was imminent. He was an absolute disgrace and could not care less about his input to that game.

If he had that in him then then he has it in him as a default.

A complete and utter fraud to me.
