    Tonali

Reports coming out he's not happy and wants away.

Don't have any trouble believing this, tbh. Either not starting or being subbed despite being one of our best players.

We're starting to see what sort of player we've got so will be a bugger if someone else gets the best of him.

You could think 'he's got a cheek after what he did and how we supported him' but, from a playing perspective and for his career you can see why he might want away.

Plus, 12th in the league must have him-and a few others-reassessing the 'project'.

    Thoughts?

He and his agent have come out and rubbished it.

On Fabrio as well - so best source going for it.

You're points are def true but, for me, we're coming into silly season so every man and his dog will be linked in and away.

Wouldn?t blame him for wanting away to be honest, but it seems to be paper talk. We need to make a statement in Jan, or our so called ? stars? will all want out. We are 12 th ffs in the league, not good enough, and that?s down to the ? stars? wouldn?t be bothered if we sold one of the ? stars? to fund a rebuild which we need! Which ? star? would we be happy to sell though? Personally I would let Bruno go, he?s overrated, slow, can?t make a pass, sell for ?120 million. If we don?t show ambition a few more will be looking to leave as well, that?s for sure.

Ah, good if it's bollocks, then.

Tonali sitting deeper with Bruno further forward and Joelinton running through people is a superb midfield who need time together to gel.

i'd peddle Barnes and Miggy-if we have to sell-definitely not Bruno.

The Italian press hate the fact they are peasant relatives of Europe football and that the Prem's 15th placed can cherry pick their top talent due to the excellent business and financial structure of the Prem (cough cough not a mafioso [not quite more cartel than cosa nostra] levels of financial corruption we see across Italian businesses) meaning that Brighton can challenge Lazio, Napoli, Fiorentina possibly even a Milan Club in terms of financial packages.

It's all bitter jealousy from the Italians. Until the player's on a flight back home and holding a clubs shirt I'm not buying it.

All the noise coming out of the 'Tonali camp' it's that the player feels indebted to the club due to the levels of support and care afford to him during his ban and rehabilitation.

So I'm not so sure this is anything other than wishful thinking from the Italian MSM clowns.

Remember, those muppets are Italian versions of Paul Merson, Gorilla Mitts and at best Simon Jordon, Simioni Jordanio if you will.

He's clearly better than Longstaff.. it rests on the managers head if he's not playing him more..

He's a starter.. I'd want away too if true

    100%

He?s a nailed on International for now? but with a World Cup after next season there is a risk that he could be pushed to the side in favour of someone playing, making the team for qualifiers and friendlies between now and then?. No one should be assuming that the Italian team will just wait and see if he is a regular next season, and I?m pretty certain that he has that at the back of his mind, and if he doesn?t his agent will.

The story got rubbished for now, but gratitude for how the club and fans have treated him will not outweigh not playing for long.

We were told there were fitness concerns at the start of the season? which Tonali pi$$ed all over by playing 2 full games in the very first International break for Italy (and was a stand out player in both). Am sure people will point to him having cramp toward the end of the Liverpool game, yes because he gave f**king everything? and the lad had never been given 90 minutes yet, only started a game when we played City and only started a handful since.

If Longstaff wasn?t local he?d have a fraction of the support he does? he?s slow to get forward, takes too long with the ball when he gets it and then 90% of the time it goes sideways or backwards.

Also agree it is down to the manager? but then it?s probably easier to start a headless chicken who will run around and be ineffective most of the time when you don?t have a really clear plan/style to implement and ask of the players.

If anyone disagrees, then I?d love to hear what style we are playing or even trying to play? because I?m obviously too thick to understand the genius at play here.

We?ve got to remember Tonali hasn?t played for a year.

The pace of the Premier League is a lot more intense than those friendlies he?s playing for Italy.

I?m not saying he?s not up to speed tactically, but certainly his recovery time may be that little bit longer than had he been playing through last year.

On top of that, it?s holding that level of concentration for the full 90 minutes might be an issue?

I don?t know, obvs? but those training with home every day might.

Another thing to look at is how the team plays and who do you need in each position. We?ve seen it for years with England? manager after manager thinking they need to play Lampard and Gerard together, trying to put Bellingham / Foden / Palmer in the same team.

It?s a squad game, the options on the bench are just as important as the starting 11.

It gives you the opportunity to change things up. We?ve had an up and down season, when Longstaff starts, we?ve had the better of the results? Tonali coming on and changing the game? that?s sort of the point of a tactical substitution? we?d be going mad if a tactical sub didn?t work, so let?s give credit when it does, rather criticise it.

Anyways, I?d love to get back to the swashbuckling displays of a couple of seasons ago, one way or another? but let?s remember who of the 2 were here for that.

He played well today in the 6 position again.
