We are massively missing a Maurice Watkins

Someone who can point to a person that can give advice.

But this would be my advice to Neerav and the board.
Firstly and importantly find someone that can give you clear football advice.
And while looking for that person do this.
Make Devaney HC until the end of the season then think about another permanent HC at the end of the season.
Trim down the number of assistant coaches.
    Remove Sormaz.
Ask James to have a bigger input into recruitment.
    This January window off load:
    Cosgrove
    Watters
    Phillips
    Craig

    Bring in:
    Two out and out strikers.

We are massively missing some plain old practical common sense. Have been for years.

As a few have said on here in the past - there is no football knowledge at director level.
The owners know this full well - hence bringing in Sormaz.
Has Sormaz been a success ?
    I?d say not.

We are not missing those two per se.
But anyone with two brain cells to rub together can see we are missing the out and out striker skills they bring to the table.

I brought this up at the Supporters Trust Meeting - and there seems to be quite a few more that?s latched onto this now.

Watters and Cosgrove are not up to the job.
The header Watters missed on 88 minutes against Orient is an example of this.

I thought Dane Murphy was probably the most influential and knowledgeable suit we've had at the club for many a long year .

He seemed to understand the role he was in and what the club was trying to do regarding " player trading " with the requirements the HC needed to be successful on the field .

This isn't an endorsement of the so called model but the fact Murphy understood it and probably made it work as good as it was possible to make it work with the limitations it presented .

Murphy played the game professionally and he had some really good contacts in the US , he was totally responsible for bringing Dike to the club for instance .

It wasn't a coincidence that things pretty much went downhill when he left in my opinion .
