A Merry Winter Solstice to you all.

The length of daylight in a 24 hour period begins to draw out.

Prepare to party in a few days. Kill a wild boar, bird or fish, gather root vegetables and berries, open that juice that has been fermenting, Take the above to the women in the cave to prepare and cook whilst the men celebrate.

Make the 25th of December the day to feast.

Ditto , the older I have got the more I detest the winter and continually wish it was spring , the only downside is that in theory I am wishing my life away, the time already flys by and I have reached an age where I could do with time standing still for a while just to get a bit more out of this gig they call life !!!

The summer months of Southern Spain can't come quick enough Shad , 6 months and 14 days to go , not that I'm counting of course .

The first bloody ice cold Madri won't even touch the sides .
