Seen it all now.
"The English Football League hope the changes will lower the financial losses some clubs in the third and fourth tier make."
So any future Bournemouth is off the cards?
Another nail in the coffin of lower league football.
Never mind Wrexham, how will any L1/L2 team build a promotion squad in 25/26? The Bros need to get their wallets out in the close season (if that's allowed).
I hope the Bros have been cute and any income from the Nest/Padel courts is not included in this rope around the neck.

Is it just me who thinks this is very good for us?
With all our revenue generated from padel, Nest etc and all of the capital expenditure is already out the way.
I don't think there will be any winners. Will players cost less because we are restricted? Will players understand we can't pay top dollar? Everyone dreams of a (legit) billionaire Notts fan shovelling wheelbarrow loads of cash into the club. How else will teams get into the Championship? (The prem rob all the best players already so building a good team from scratch may become a pipe dream) I have said over the years that it will soon be Prem1 and Prem2 with no relegation from Prem2.
L1/L2/NL you stay where you belong!
1) Yes, probably, because they'll have to sign for someone and if the total pot of money available to pay them is lower, wages should decrease accordingly.
2) I'm sure they won't like it but they should able to understand it.
3) Same number of teams will get promoted. Size of fan base and sensible ownership will become more important.
That's my first impression anyway.
I can see any player in the lower leagues getting an offer from the Championship off, the other thing is players coming down from the Championship especially to League 1 being very unattractive
