    Trippier

Pleased to see he's been given a run of games. From the highlights, he looks his old self albeit less involved in the attacking play.

How has he been playing in your opinion?

Alright, Hughie. Good to see you on, man.

He's been decent. I think, as much as anything, we've benefited from his cool head and his experience.

Aye, his experience have certainly helped us.

His head, seems much more back in the game after last seasons personal issues as well.

Been an important player in our last 2 games, which have been the trickiest of our recent run.

Tino was unwell for the Villa game, so gave Tripps the chance to get into the line up, and his experience and leadership have been massive.

I?d keep playing him, certainly against Spurs, and Son in particular.

Tino has been great but he?s still young, and when I watch him live there?s still some improvement he can make when deciding to close someone down or back off from them.

I?d like to keep Tripps till the end of the season so Tino can continue to train with him and learn from him? but who know?s what?ll happen in terms of money and wanting more wiggle room for PSR

    Totally agree, Ian.

It can't all be based on money. What he offers, not only in terms of experience on the pitch but as someone who could help Tino improve his game, has to be worth more to us than what we'd get for him (albeit he'll be on significant wages, too).

It has to be Trippier on Saturday, he will need to be playing along side Kelly for experience and guidance.

I?d like to see Tripps here next season too. He?s proven to be solid when his head?s in the game and not having to play week in week out.

If he?s happy playing second fiddle to Tino, then we?re not going to get anyone with his experience, quality and leadership at a reasonable price, and who?s happy to sit out the majority of matches.

Surely he has another season left in him, let?s us spend money in more urgent positions first.

I agree I?d like to see him stay another year, but I?ve just got doubts he will.

He?s obviously had a lot of personal issue, so might want to be elsewhere? obviously the other side of that is if his wife and kids were to stay in Darras then that?s a reason for him to stay.

Also though, this is the tail end of his career? he might be looking for one last lucrative move to make sure he?s setup, and his kids are setup, for life? I?d not begrudge him that given how committed and important he has been since he joined.
