Great news, hopefully we?ll see more of Whitwell now, let?s hope it all goes well because the team he inherits is nowhere near the quality he had last time
More youngsters will be given a chance and hurrah to that, times up for some of our wasters now

Happy. Loved it when he was here first time around. I do remember the the negatives regarding his tactics (tippy tappy was a term used by some) and i recall the ridicule some supporters go when they put on Tony Mowbray masks at the ladt game.

Personally i really enjoyed his time at our place. Hopefully I will again.

    Welcome back Tony.

Good appointment. When the names were banded about he wasn’t someone we said not him. Could have done a lot worse. We’ve got a good squad to work with, and hopefully some new additions now we’ve got a manager in place.

Well that is something of a relief after all the uncertainty and also some of the names that have been bandied about. Still have some concerns about his health but don't think he would have gone for the job if he didn't feel up to it.

Like OB, I can remember some of the negative aspects of his previous time with us, but over all, he was one of our better managers and fondly remembered. I look forward to seeing what Tony-and Mark Venus of course!-can do. Hopefully a more attacking style of football at the least.

We may not have the same depth in squad quality that we had when he managed us previously, but we still have some decent players that I'm sure he can bring the best out of. As Brunty pointed out, he has also shown during his time at other clubs that he can adapt to the abilities and quality of the players available to him.

Bit odd that the news isn't on the official site yet?

Obviously with all his experience, he has some good contacts in the game and may be able to bring some new blood to the squad.
