    Freezing weather in the America

There has been freezing weather in America during the last week with snow falling in Texas and Florida with Donald Trump?s inauguration ceremony in Washington moved indoors because of freezing temperatures of minus 13C (9F) forecast during the event. Meanwhile there has been little mention about these continued freezing temperatures in America because it is does not suit the Climate Change and Green agenda of Main Stream News sites.
No doubt we will be told by the BBC Climate Change ?expert? Justin Rowlatt that Storm Eowyn which is due to hit Scotland and the North of England tomorrow (Friday 24th January 2025) is caused by Climate Change and these vicious storms are being caused by the world heating up due to the continued use of fossil fuels in the U.K.
Rubbish. There was no mention of Climate Change and CO2 emissions when the Boxing Day 1998 storm hit Scotland and caused a lot of damage.
    What do other posters think.

I agree with you. Completely normal and natural weather cycles.

We get flooding not because there's more rain but because waterways, drains, ditches etc. are no longer properly maintained and because of the insistence on building housing on flood plains without proper thought to where that water will go. It goes into waterways that are no longer properly maintained of course.

Climate change? No. Common sense? No. Just bad planning.

In fact, climate change can sometimes amplify extreme weather in both directions—hot and cold. It's worth keeping an open mind and looking at the bigger picture rather than focusing on single events.

You can show evidence to back up that fact then? Preferably not the anecdotal type because you've kicked back on me providing that.

RedRocks has a point though. It is a fact that some islands in the Pacific have submerged. It is because the sea level has risen. I have not seen any attempt to prove or state that this has been caused because the island has been worn away and reduced in height because of tidal action.
It seems strange to me that coastal erosion is a well understood process, around our coast. The waters around our island have not risen to the extent of the height of the coast that has been eroded.
This is a really interesting subject and I hope that there might be a way to provide a fact based rebuttal of the zero carbon mantra which seems to me to be based on very shoogle foundations.

The planet is currently coming out of an ice age, why does this simple fact never get taken into account when the lefties are talking rising sea levels and climate change?

Climate Change is a myth which is peddled by tree huggers and other people looking for an excuse for unseasonable weather throughout the world.
The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (UNIPCC) who are happy to hold their annual COP jamboree in a different country every year so that they can build up their air miles and have a free holiday are only estimating the CO2 emissions from Peatlands throughout the world up to 2021/22 which was their latest published information.
In my opinion the members of the UNIPCC need to immediately explain why they are not counting the total amount of CO2 emissions from Peatlands throughout the world and how many other sectors of the World’s economy they are also only estimating their CO2 emissions.
I would be surprised if the UNIPCC are inflating their estimation of the CO2 emissions from Peatlands throughout the world to con governments into bringing in laws outlawing the sale of petrol and diesel powered vehicles to suit their own agenda.

There is a well known saying which the residents of these islands in the Pacific have ignored.
The wise man builds his house on the rocks not on the sand.

The carbon created by industrialisation is the single source of global warming/ climate change. I have not read anything that says otherwise. I hope there might be, but according to Miliband the sole source is man made carbon from fossil fuels.
Just would like some sources with credibility that refute the Miliband tendency.

Despite all these rising sea levels.....frontline properties are always the most expensive and there's no end of people wanting to spend millions on them....Europe to the Americas to the Carribbean to the Indian ocean and Australia.....always strikes me as strange
