Something has been a little off with Grady since he signed for us. We will never know for sure if it was disappointment at being sold by West Ham - the team he supported as a child, or the disappointment of not quite making it in the premier league, or the niggling injuries he has had more than his fair share of, or something entirely personal that we don't know about, or some combination of all that, but it has been very frustrating for all of us to watch someone as skilled as him just not being able to deliver what we all know he is capable of. I would say with all the tragedies and tribulations that Mowbray has gone though in his life, if anyone can get through to him, Mowbray can, and if he does, look out, because there is one heck of a player in there somewhere.

I?m sure Mowbray can get the best out of Grady given time but for how long? He has a habit of reverting to type, on his day a world beater but these a few and far between, time to cash in and move on I?m sorry to say, the same with Swift and Wallace, Mowbray will instill confidence into these two as well but come the end of the season to move forward
we need to let the likes of Diangana, Swift, Wallace, Bartley and Ajayi go along with the awful Holgate and Racic
Should be an interesting summer window with Mowbray being able to build his own side

Certainly, Grady had a good game last match but (aside from it being against a poor side), "one swallow doesn't make a summer". No-one, I'm sure, doubts the ability he has, nor some of the niggling injuries he has had to weather, but we are also all aware of the inconsistent performances and lack of competitive attitude.

I too, would be hopeful that TM could get the best out of him but it is all down to Grady. If he does not get his reported wish to leave this transfer window then his attitude after this will be telling. If he responds well and replicates the attitude he did in the last game, puts in consistently good performances and enjoys playing under TM, then he may change his mind and decide to sign another contract which will please fans. If he plays well but he still decides to leave at the end of this season then fans may wish him the best. If he reverts to type however, fans may rue the money lost on him leaving on a "free" but will be glad to be shot.

I have sympathy for Calgary's point of view, but think that bomber's (not just regarding Diangana but on the other players mentioned) is likely the more pragmatic. That said, its all about our ability to recruit better replacements and, in the meantime, hats off to Mogga if he can get the best out of those currently available to him.
