    Dissapointment

We get beat by the team at the bottom of the league and…....the silence is deafening.

Back home from the Dublin disappointment.

It is perhaps understandable that the site so quiet.

My next game will be Blackburn at home. Midweek, but luckily, business brings me to Brum that day so can take it in.

    Hopefully we?ll get a result.

I didn't see the game and only heard 1st half commentary what there was of it as they were saying it was dull.
I went to a non league game for a 3rd of the price of an albion ticket and saw a victory which probably took my mind off the albion result.
I guess we have all just reset after the euphoria of the 5-1 victory recently.
Will be at the next home game again Sheff Wed so that will tell us where we are and if we can make the playoffs.

I am not making excuses but I am convinced that had that extremely dubious penalty not been awarded against us we would have gone on and won the game. We were in compete control even if we did not create many chances. Until they were awarded that penalty they never looked like scoring. One of those games I am afraid although we have had a few too many of them this season.

I agree they never looked like scoring but there again neither did we. And there in lies the real problem for me!

With Dyke out injured for who knows how long and Maja out as well...it really has placed us in an awkward position with a day to go for transfer. Still hopeful someone decent will arrive....who can score.

I have to be honest and say that I?m not that interested in getting promoted this season and so defeats aren?t affecting me massively.

It?s a weird feeling but we don?t look anywhere near ready and we would be fodder worse than Southampton this season if we did get up.

It?s almost a nothing season for me. We would do well to play some decent kids and prepare for next season.

I have sympathy for both Matt and Ketts point of view. Aside from my growing dislike of the "greed league" can you imagine what it would be like for us if we were to get promoted? Yes, it would mean more money for the club but the gap in quality between the Prem and the Championship is just too large and MOTD would not make good viewing! If we did get up, we would then struggle not to get demoted that first season with the best likely outcome then being that we would spend a couple of seasons trying to establish ourselves as a lower-mid table club.

In many ways, I like the Championship better as it tends to be far more competitive and Plymouth are a case in point. OB is right in that we are a club in play off position whereas Argyle were bottom but, for me, that never meant that this was ever going to be an easy game. Having been thrashed by Burnley, they drew with Sunderland and post Rooney, their new manager has certainly begun to turn things around and made them far more solid defensively. Should we have beaten them? Yes, but it was never going to be a goal-fest like we got against Portsmouth. Plymouth are fighting for survival and they showed it whereas the Portsmouth manager seemed to have written the game against ourselves off in advance and put out a changed and weakened team in the hope of saving his better players for their more win-able next match. Even then though, the first 20 minutes were pretty even.

Was I disappointed by Saturday's result? Absolutely-but it wasn't just because we deserved to get at least a point from the game. I was disappointed in the performances put in by some (Wallace, Swift and Diangana for example) and also by some of TM's decisions (why not start Grant, Price or Molumby and why take off Fellows and, especially, Johnston?). We did play more attacking football again and there were times when we showed some nice movement but even when we did manage to break their defence down and put balls in we failed miserably in the final third. With Maja out and Dike still not training with the first team yet, we better hope Lankshear has his shooting boots on!

My disappointment is with Tony Mowbray, do I think he?ll get it right in the end, yes I do, but for now only a couple of weeks into the job he?s come across as another one of the old guard who thinks Wallace,Swift and one good game in ten Diangana are the answer, if we rock up v Leeds with those three as part of the midfield I dread to think of the outcome, Price, Molumby, Diakite, Whitwell and Heard are out future, not has beens like Swift and co
