    Reading Post Match Thoughts

To get anything away from home you often need some decisions to go in your favour and by all accounts, today they didn't. A battling performance but at the end of the day it's no points and the bottom of the league looms larger than the top.

    Thoughts?

That’s how it goes when you’re on a downwards trajectory - we have to accept we’ll end up in a relegation dogfight. We have to stay up and stop the rot. Brave/unlucky defeats mean JS now - points on the board, however ugly we play, we get them. If it requires ‘****housery’, so be it

For years now we've been very fragile in the dying stages of a game. How to run the clock down and stay calm and collected in added on time isn't in our DNA it seems. But it's all the refs fault. Of course it is Mr Evans

Watched Final Score from my sick bed just waiting for the late Reading winner. I wasn't disappointed.
Mandatory Barnsley home defeat next week. Still don't think we'll go down, but roll on Summer.

I think relegation might be beneficial

Only watched on phone on canterbury spoons and kept losing signal but looked very harsh with two disallowed goals. Looked like we played well in 2nd half and was quite an enjoyable end to end game that sadly went wrong way with stupid hands on shoulders by otherwise strong Jules. Disappointing. Again.

Ultimately some dubious refereeing decisions made the difference and cost us getting something from the game but let's not sugar coat it.
We lacked every footballing quality under the sun all over the pitch today and didn't really deserve any more than what we got. The end

I don't think we were that bad today, in the second half we played a lot better and there were some horrendous decisions against use, a very poor referee. Taking off sibley was a shocking decision, we replaced him with who exactly? So we dropped Nombe to play front of the diamond, that meant we lost him closing down, we lost Sibley tracking back as well (1 minute before going off he ran 20m to block a shot), putting on JCH was a very poor decision, caught offside twice, fell over three times and lost control of the ball twice as well. If that is a support fit JCH he and we have a real problem. When SE made the changes we lost competitiveness in midfield and we were constantly under pressure, awful decision.
All three of Evans main signings don't play or when they do they are awful, how much budget did he waste on those three players?
On the game we were unlucky not to get a point.
Based on points but we are closer to the bottom four than the top six and if Crawley win the game in had we will only be 7 points of going down. One of the bottom 4 will crawl out of the relegation positions and at the moment with our form we could drop into that place, the next away game will be huge, we cannot afford to lose that game.
A minimum of 7 points from the next 5 games for me, that would put us 2 wins away from safety.
With Kelly, Gore out we have to bring in an out of contract midfielder and defender to give us the cover we need

The referees haven?t cost us all season

Time for the UB40 to be delivered! The way that Evan?s conducted himself again at the final whistle was embarrassing!

Get him out of the club! It?s not worked and it won?t change

Powell motm. Another enjoyable game. A great battling league one game. Shame about the result.
Ref made some poor decisions though I don't think he was biase. Just made the wrong calls . We're all human after all, even ref's.
Reading edged the first half and we edged the second. As mentioned above. Typical league one battle.
Anyone who didn't enjoy that game shouldn't support us. It's who we are.
nemind how much more you want us to be. Or challenging near the top. Enjoy the ride ladies,
