Romared Match Thoughts Northampton Town v Barnsley

With Leyton Orient away to Birmingham tomorrow evening we could be just four points behind the East Londoners if we are victorious at Northampton .

    Funny old game .

True Animal. However, I don't see us matching the consistency of any of the top 6 plus our gaol difference is well behind any of those in the play off zone.

We need a minimum of 6 points from the next 2 games to have any hope imo.

If we do win the next 2 then Charlton away is a big game.

Both my head and my heart says we will fall short come May. We ain't on the charge like we were in 2016 or a couple o seasons ago under Duff and we certainly have an inferior team/squad compared to the Barnsley teams in those two seasons that I alluded to

I have a good feeling about this game but I always fancy us on our travels therefore I expect us to get 3 points with a narrow win , in the grand scheme of things a win keeps the season alive although we all realise that we are not good enough to get in the play offs but it is important for us to give every game our best shot as the fans deserve nothing less.

Another good result with other results going our way too. Starting to hope of a playoff place again?

Huge shoutout to DKD. He is such a threat with goals and assists and I dread to think where we would be without him. I imagine other teams will come sniffing in the summer.

Also recognition to Marc Roberts too. I thought he was excellent at the start of the season but struggled after his injury. These last 2 games he?s been back to his best and really made a difference for us.

A game we tried to throw away again though!!!! We were totally in control before O'Keefe had a brain fa7t with a terrible under hit pass that put them back into it, then Mael decided to put us under more pressure by making a stupid tackle!
Roberts and DKD were outstanding tonight though and made the difference.

Agree. DKD took his goals with a touch of class. Roberts has been very good in the last couple of games as you say.

Drawback was Mael being sent off which means a 3 game suspension. You'd think McCarthy would be drafted back in with Pines injured.

Pretty solid performance from us tonight barring the ballax up for their goal.

10 away wins now which is excellent. Been a good week for us.

That O?Keeffe ?pass? was awful. He?s such a frustrating player.

I thought the red was slightly harsh but still daft to go in like that.

Showed a bit of resiliency to hold on.

Two players head and shoulders above the rest in DKD and Roberts.

Should have been a comfortable win but no from the dreaded 75th minutes we did what we mostly do.

A shockingly casual O'Keeffe error for their goal and then a deservedly red card for Mael DG had us hitting the self destruct button.

We have some players who are well and truly brain dead with their decision making at this level.

    Opinions eh Nerf.
He went straight through on the player, a leading foot up? you can’t do that these days. No reason to go to ground he just go and get tight on him.
    Another unnecessary suspension .
