    Wootton v Jatta

Both have much to offer, but who would you choose given the choice?

Jatta for me. Wootton is better at holding up the ball, but Jatta is a better all-round striker. He's faster and more of a goal threat. Both great players though.

Jatta. He is definitely a bit more mobile and certainly quicker. I think the rest of their individual games are probably about as good as each others.

    Jatta, without hesitation.

Interesting question, because we're comparing against a player plying his trade at the top end of L1

Put it this way: how many goals would Jatta have scored in the NL? Wootton got 15 one season and 19 the next. I'm sure Jatta would have got way more than that. He would have been a joke at that level.

Wootton is a decent player, but he's essentially a really good version of a traditional target man. Jatta is pretty much a complete striker who's big, strong, quick, great in the air, decent with his feet, works hard, and scores plenty.

To look at it another way, we turned down ?750k for Jatta because he's worth more. I'm fairly sure we would have sold Wootton for a third of that amount if an offer came in.

Much as I like Wootton, I'd say Jatta wins this one by a long way.

ETA: I am comparing Wootton when he was with us, not Wootton now as I haven't seen him play lately.

I?m a bit surprised by the responses here, I think Wootton is a far more accomplished player than Jatta. Wootton had great feet for a big fellah and could accept any type of ball into him. He scored goals in a squad that didn?t provide anywhere near the amount of chances we create now as well. He was also younger when we had him and had bigger gains to make, and is now playing at a top League One side. Granted, Jatta has more pace but doesn?t finish as well as Wootton (who I admit did have his fair share of misses!)

I love Jatta, but he ain?t great.

I?d say Jatta as think he?s a bit quicker and better goal threat but that?s based on when I saw as most Wooton a while back.
I?d also be interested to see a thread on Jatta vs Langstaff. I?d say there?s a gnats whisker between them two too. I would probably go Jatta l and I think he?ll get better as it?s his first year over here and I don?t believe he?s always been played as an out and out striker all the time before too, so still learning.
