SBRed Match Thoughts Mansfield Town v Barnsley

I'm expecting some kind of response from the players given Clarke has departed with one or two rumours surfacing of not a happy camp under his leadership .

Let's see the cut of Hourihane's jib now he's in the hot seat and the players can hopefully refrain from cheating the fans and get back to what it is they actually get paid for .

Nobody in my opinion is coming out of this week's events looking too good but such is football it will be quickly forgotten should we come away with the 3 points tomorrow .

Until the next episode that is which will turn up soon enough .

Yes you'd expect a response from the players after the last two performances where we showed no ballax, no heart, no desire and no pride.

In the light of this week's events, I'm going to change my prediction because if the rumours are true, and the camp is not a happy one, then the departure of DC will obviously affect those who weren't towing the rope hopefully.

I might be a bit wooden as I have not read anything suggesting that the camp was not a happy one , whilst there are always rumours especially when results are not going well but to me thats all they are , rumours , its up to every individual to believe or not believe , personally I try my best to stick to revealed facts and not general tickle tackle , however I am hoping for a new manager bounce although I am still very annoyed at this latest chapter in our clubs history , we are run by amatures so lets hope our professionals on the pitch do the business.

I have read that but that could be anything , such as interference from the boardroom, it does not indicate to me that there is actual trouble among the players themselves , people are just guessing which is exactly what I am doing, there are no actual facts.

I'm basing my views on players body language, attitude and the complacency i've witnessed at times this season.

Luca could mean anything as you say.

Let's hope CH can get a 100% work ethic going.

Some of the games I've seen such as Wycombe away for example saw our lads simply outworked by the opposition. I hate to see that because hard work, commitment and hard running is the minimum requirement and always has been. I don't like singling players out so I'm not going to but theres too many that aren't giving everything out there on the pitch.

Ismaels Barnsley team have been the hardest working team I've ever witnessed here at Barnsley. Fitness levels were freaky to be honest, especially the wing backs in Styles and Brittain. This current side is nowhere near that level of fitness and it shows. When the going gets tough, there's too many out there found wanting. They wait for others to do things for them. It proper pysses me off Shads.

I agree with everything you say and lets be fair it only needs one or two not to be pulling their weight and it completely messes up the team performance and the team ethic , unacceptable !!!

While I can't wait to see the back of this season now. I do realise that these ten games could be very important, both for Conor himself, and for the clubs future over the next few years.
Its all very "underwhelming" though, and he wouldn't be my first choice (not at the moment anyway).
Let's see though if they give him that new manager bounce, which often happens in the first few games.

It could mean anything but my view is the players downed tools for Clarke which ultimately led to his dismissal which is what Connell is referring to .

I may have an old fashioned view but I find that particularly unpleasant , they may well not like or respect the HC but that shouldn't mean they down tools .

They have a responsibility to do their best at all times for the fans and themselves and given our horrific home record for going on two season's they were cheating the fans who have paid good money up front to watch this dross .

Symptomatic of the modern game I guess but disgraceful none the less .

I've worked for one or two pretty awful companies in my career but I always did my job to the best of my ability and kept my head held high because if you don't your co workers have it harder and your own self respect takes a dive .

The bstrds weren't ever grinding me down .
