    Match Thread Responses

Responses to match day threads are varied on our results, I thought they would be about the same. Our last 3 games were....
    Newport Won 97 responses
    Crewe Draw 174 Responses
    Chesterfield L 270 Responses
So does that mean more people are quick to jump on a keyboard on a loss than a win, intersting

Might be to do with the quality of the opposition attracting more posters/interest.

I've sometimes been too busy to follow a match. I've come on here and looked at the number of pages on the match thread, and usually been able to see straight away whether we've had a good result or a bad one. There are usually far more comments if we've lost, particularly if we thought we ought to win.

Yes I think that's true. People expect Notts to win most games at this level so if we lose there's more of a controversy and there has to be an inquest. If we win it's just business as usual.

No it's to do with exactly what Glad2BeAPie is implying - when we lose the doommongers all appear and when we win they keep shtum.

When I'm overseas and can't get to follow a game, I instantly know whether we've won or lost when I log onto this board and see how many posts the match thread has got. It's a simple rule of thumb that has never let me down

Yesterday's match wasn't on TV so less people would have watched it compared to other recent matches.

This thread takes moaning about moaning to new levels.

It's like this, we win away and lose/draw at home. Don't be surprised either way. Just as we don't need people going overboard about defeats, we don't need this tedious calling out the moaners when we win.

Definitely, and welcome to the world of football messageboards.

One of the most common comments on them all is "why is this board busier when we lose"?

I think it clearly shows that, but tbh these kind of points are things to bring up post-season. Need everyone together for a massive last 7 games.

I don't think it correlates with how devoted a fan you are, but reactions to defeats can be too strong.

For their own good, some posters should take more heed of pro sport maxim of 'never get too high, never get too low'.

The anger, despair, disgust that's often expressed on here is just too much a lot of the time. Haven't seen Eastcoastultra post for a while, maybe he can let us know, but my theory is that he spontaneously combusted sometime around the Barrow game.

We could well lose on Wednesday, and that would be a devastating defeat given the league situation, but if it happens, it happens, no need to have an aneurysm. Look after yourselves.
