    Switch of position for Armstrong?

A recent article points out that Armstrong was quite effective at getting his goals playing wide rather than as a C/F both for Blackburn and Saints. Surely worth a try as he may have some pace and trickery but his size certainly works against him as a target man playing in the centre which has got to be part of his ineffectiveness. With Tom Fellows currently off the pace, why not try Armstrong on the right wing which would allow Dike to play as C/F?

I'm aware that TM is concerned about playing Dike too much and building his fitness levels up but could maybe rotate him with Grant as a C/F. Karlan-as we all know-isn't a natural number 9 either and is better playing "off the shoulder" but I've personally long thought that playing him or Johnston should not be mutually exclusive.

Attack wise, things should also improve once Furlong is back from his ban and Price fitter after his international duties (surely a better option than Swift) but a switch of position for Armstrong may unlock his potential and help us get those much needed goals. What do others think?

Possibly so, but I think that we need someone of stature to play in the No. 9 position. We are well stocked with widemen ie Fellows, Grant, Johnstone, Diangana, although I must admit Fellows has been off the boil of late. With Maja still unavailable I feel that we need to give Dike a run, perhaps for the first 60 mins. Needs be, needs must, as they say.

Interesting. I suppose Mowbray knows Armstrong better than most. I certainly wouldn’t be against trying it. When’s Maja back? I thought he would have been back by now.

Tony's doing right by Dike , the last thing we need is him getting another bad injury .

Reyes Cleary is doing well at Hartlepool , there was talk he was unfit at Walsall but he had been out for a long time .
Now he is getting regular game time and has found his scoring boots .
