If we were still in the failing EU, we would be punished with a 20% tariff on all exports to the USA.Because the greedy EU have been charging, on average a massive 39% tariff on USA imports, it's understandable that Mr.Trump is not happy with this penalty.By charging the EU 20%, it is still nearly half of what the Americans' exports have to face.We face a lesser tariff of 10% which could attract companies to come over here from theEU,if they did not have to face the monstrous taxes we are now being charged in this country.Let's hope that can change but I don't hold much hope..Thank God we are out of the imploding EU.

The customer buying the goods pay the tariff, not Northern Ireland - It is still **** though.
The Americans that can afford to spend thousands on Champagne, Ferraris or Rolex watches will just foot the 20% because they can afford to and it is more about the status of being able to afford these things rather than the quality of them.
Chinese products got 54% and that is where iPhone are made - They will still sell in America
Why no tariffs on Russian goods????
Trump is delivering every thing he promised on his manifesto. He won on a big majority and now the working man in America is benefitting from this, unlike the previous president who looked after the likes of Bill Gates.I wish we could have a leader who stood for the working man.
Won't be long before foreigners are coming to Britain for cheap fags n booze
He's not and he won't. The only beneficiaries will be the uber rich, and even they may end up losing out to some extent.
As for Biden and Trump.... same gravy train, different drivers. The only difference is Trump knows how to pull the wool over the working man's eyes.
How anyone in the UK can laud Trump is beyond me. Just goes to show how naive and gullible some people are.
I understand that point of view, and my readings of left and right centred economists seem to think that this will be the outcome. But I'm also interested in the opposite argument - Bill obviously feels such conviction in his opinion, and enthusiasm for it, that he was motivated to start a thread on a football message board so I am assuming his enthusiasm would have sparked off a reading of the economics involved. I'm just interested in why he is so sure Trump's tariffs will benefit the working man of the USA.
