Lol, I can't recall the last time i cleaned my vinyl. Use to have loads but sadly over theyears they've disappeared or whatever.
As for this track, a steady number and easy on the ear from these lads but, I think it's fair to say that this was their all time recognised number.....
Lol, seeing how you touched on Northern Soul, I simply had to add this tonight as it is very special to me. Pardon the length of the post but I just wanted to pour out my feelings for my very dear and now departed close friend.
My very good friend William (Bill) 'Snowy' Snow lost his battle against cancer last week. Snowy was known across the UK for Northern Soul (NS) gigs/nights from Whitby to Benalmadena. Those in the NS scene will know whom I'm referring to.
I first met Snowy some 34 years ago when Alan Senior owned the Sidings pub at Brinsworth, Alan had employed him as one of the resident DJ's and our friendship grew from there. We shared some hilarious nights in the Sidings, as Bill would run a random fancy dress night etc, some of the costumes were outrageous. Imagine a steady Friday night but folk turning up in trunks and costumes as it was a beach party night or, Men dressed in women's attire and women in clergy as this time it was a vicar's and tarts theme. You had to be there to understand my point. I still have the photographic evidence!
As years progressed I would sometimes cover Bill, but only for a few minutes on the decks, while he nipped away for a toilet break etc. One night after about an hour or so he invited me to take over the night and just simply walked away with a drink in his hand to talk to folk, that was my baptism to becoming a DJ. I was bricking myself but thanks Bill, as you instilled confidence in me to give it a go. It's not easy trying to entertain a packed Pub for the first time!
Bill then started to DJ in other venues and his love of Northern Soul would take him anywhere and everywhere and he started giving up some nights in the Sidings and offered me the role. I took it with no questions asked. As my confidence grew and I became more settled, he would offer jobs me to cover Weddings/ Xmas parties etc and I never looked back, I owe that man so much
I could go on with countless stories from our friendship over the years, maybe some other time.
Snowy would ALWAYS end his night with one particular song and this was it. Rest easy and thank you, thank you, for some great memories but most of all for being such a good friend![]()
Brin I knew Snowy from the Charade, great bloke & boy did he know his music, sorry to hear hes past away, RIP Snowy.https://youtu.be/F8gejqmgELA?si=xMGC40OnKydB5cmb

Excellent tribute to a mate, Brin.
CT, I don?t sleep well these days and I catch up mid afternoon with my sleep. I need to get a grip.
Thank you for your kind words. We are all getting old and soon it will be our turn to pass. Here?s hoping it?s not for the next 15- 20 years.
I?ve decided the savings are about to be spent, bugger the kids they can share the house!
Now where?s that Aston Martin I?ve always fancied?
