    Why the hesitancy?

Have just watched Hamshaw's post-Bolton interview. It's clear that the guy is so INVESTED in the team and the job, and given the dramatic improvement in performances and results, why is there no news of a permanent contract?

Surely now is the time to give Hammy the opportunity to build the support structure he says he needs, and to plan for recruitment.

The last two games in particular have re-energised my enthusiasm for watching the Millers. I feel connected in a way that I haven't for the majority of this season, as has been mentioned by others on other threads. As the season draws to a close I'm feeling frustrated because I'm raring to go.

    Over to you Mr Chairman.

In his first interview he said the arrangement until the end of the season suited both parties, so it might not be the club.

That would have been the diplomatic thing to say. Events change responses. I can't imagine Stewart is thinking "I'll hang on and see if things change for the worse."

In management you seize the opportunity because you believe you can control the situation.

For real, liek why don't they give the man the backing and show the fans this club has a plan. We’ve waited long enough for some stability

If I was holding the purse strings I'd ensure the condition that we stayed up formed a central part of the contract.

Although we could still face the drop - an unlikely possibility - I'm hoping a further announcement will be made when the maths are right, possibly after the game this Satdi.

Knowing us, Rooney will get the job. Then the BBC will rename us Wayne Rooney's Rotherham United

There was a great deal of optimism at the beginning of this current season when it was known that SE was taking over as manager. So much so that the uptake of season tickets was tremendous.
Who's to say that the same thing won't happen again next season?
After all, good loyal players are hard to come by these days.
Look at the current shower who sought not to play for their shirt. Someone gives them a b*ll*cking and they down tools.
Do you think MH is strong enough for the task ahead if he is given the manager's job next season?
I think the honeymoon period is nearly over.

Up The Millers wherever we finish up this season.
It'll be no thanks to some of the current players and the board who acted, in my opinion, too late with SE and the allegations of bullying.
    Hesitancy is an understatement.

Yes, definitely looked like some players downed tools and that we might have more than one “ barrack room lawyer” in the squad

However true or not the second SE era is history and the new managerial team needs to find an alternative way to build a squad and to get a consistency we’ve lacked since the Warne departure. Personally I would like to see a bigger emphasis on younger players. The old warhorse approach doesn’t seem to work for us and also gives us higher wage bills.
