It was a tough, rugged and gritty game but through sheer endeavour the Add1cks came out on top thanks to the solitary winning goal scored early on by the returning Tyreece Campbell. Another clean sheet and the 19th one of the season.
The Add1cks are guaranteed the play-offs with just one more win. Tyreece's goal was assisted by Josh Edwards it's important to point out.
In the rest of the first half Tyreece made the Cambridge GK, Stevens, make another save after his winning goal. Matty Godden was then unlucky not to score after hitting the post with a stinging left footed shot.
The second half was a much tougher affair as Cambridge came back into it a bit. Gillesphey, Aneke and Godden also had some half chances to score. Late on Cambridge put the Add1cks under real pressure and a goalmouth scramble ensued after Cambridge's Dan Ballard hit just wide. This Charlton side were determined not to concede and defended manfully until the whistle.
