barrie ---do you mean the possibility of whether we stay up or go down next season?
Okay, I'll play ---it will be one or the other dependent on what happens between now and the start of the season plus our results during the season. Not worth worrying about something over which we have no controll whatsoever. Usual thoughts from me, however, I appreciate that others will see things totally differently to myself.

Doesn't really matter,we get a season playing all the moneybags teams and the cheating VAR officials.
Then back to a proper league with parachute payments. Not sure about parachute payments though 🤔

I don't think "Speculation" will get us very far barrie. We have to send United a "Top-up" fee of around 4.5 million, with Basir Humphreys we have a 12 million obligation to buy. Same goes with Jaidon Anthony and Zian Flemming for a figure of 16 million for the pair, Marcus Edwards will set us back around another 8 million pounds and we need to offer big money contracts to capture the contracts of CJ Egan Riley and Josh Brownhill.

Forty million quid in "obligations to purchase" following promotion have come back to bite us on the bum but at least we are back in the English Premier League.

If the club aren't prepared to invest more than 40 million they may aswell wave a white flag over Turf Moor.

I would try and get Bartlet on a season loan from Villa. He was sat on the bench last night and was shaking his head, and rolling his eyes when Villa made there last substitution, he looked really pished off

It will be an interesting three months ballcock. For a start I'll pay for Terrier Taxis to nip down and bring Tom Sargant back from Norwich. Him and Flemming would be a proper handful.

We have Oluwaseun Adewumi out on loan at Dundee and he might make our 2025/26 squad. I'm asking Dees fans for their take on him.

Indeed CiB, I rather like Fisher too!

Solid rumour from Craven Cottage this morning is that Cardy wants a reunion with Harrison Reed who he signed when he was managing Fulham. Three million quid is being mentioned.

Traffords money will equal the 40 million - I’m just stuck with the wage thing , Barkley at Villa will be on a 100k a week and I don’t think that’s sustainable for us we’re at 40k top earners.

Edwards I’m unsure if he’s suitable for the premiership’s physicality aka Benson ( debut against Villa at home - couldn’t compete and was steamrollered and withdrawn not to be seen again ) though Var would help him if they’re still not cheating Burnley as previously.

For me the season comes down to are we really interested in competing and staying in the league and if so we need to buy proven established players in the main with an odd few thrown in to see if we can find a gem or two - sadly reality is the players you’ve named above are not proven at that level and haven’t held down a place in a team every week in the Premiership.

Trying not to be negative but if we think Fleming is going to play like this season up top and run defences he’ll barely get a touch in games and we’ll lose possession too much ( bit like dycheball).

No if we are genuinely serious we need some proper planned strategic strategy of players for positions and quickly so they have a chance to gel together instead of day one away to Liverpool fir example losing 04 and welcome to the fastest most physical league in the world.

The Americans need to dig deep but there are players respectfully who won’t make the grade that we have and they’ll need to be squad players or moved on quickly to free the cash for bigger wages.

It’s brutal isn’t it ? We love some of the players now but are they capable of playing at higher tempos and contributing to the cause- a flash of genius now and then isn’t and won’t be enough I’m afraid, you need 11 fit lads who are prepared to do the dirty stuff and go both ways in the premiership otherwise the league / teams punish you in a breath.

Players are either big fish small
Pond or small fish big pond - we’ll wait and see.
