Amazing! The closest title race ever in English football.

Unbelievable to think or see, but six sets of club fans will be on absolute tenterhooks tomorrow as their teams battle it out to see who will be crowned League Champions. I personally have never witnessed anything like this in football, have you?

However it pans out, whoever actually claims the title, thoroughly deserves it considering the fact any one from 6 can win.

Truro City beat St Albans 5-2 to take the title. They're promoted to the National League, the first side from Cornwall ever to reach this level, apparently.

All six clubs in contention won their games so nothing changed in terms of league positions. The other five now all go into a six team play-off tournament.

In looking into this I also noticed that Western-super-Mare just failed to make the play-offs. In Ericsladkilnhurst's interesting thread on ex- Rotherham players in the news, I see that Reuben Reid (now 36) has been pretty prolific for them. Always liked him ever since I watched his trial game at Don Valley where he made a really good impression.

Of personal interest is the possible return of Dorking Wanderers to the National League having made one of the National League South play-off spots. (I owned a house and briefly lived in Dorking many years ago and follow the team with a mild level of enthusiasm.)

Sorry for this rather rambling post. I'm revving up to go out and do some gardening but it's a bit cold and I'm finding excuses to stay in the warm...

I think I have covered it before but my late mining buddy lived on Pear Tree Avenue. He would have been about 90 now had he lived. He was called Gerald Davis and his background was he came from a famous circus family trapeze act many moons ago.

Mellow, you've seen the programme 'Can't pay we'll take it away'......well they can't find CT to serve a court order on him he moves that many times......always a country or three properties in front of them.
