69 Points and a goal difference of half a dozen or so

That's all that's needed for a play-off place possibly the least ever. What an opportunity.

But, alas, not for our bottlers?

If you look at the season in three parts, we did well in the first part. Held our own in the second but fell short in the third. A lot of teams have similar stories but just different better segments. Very few have a great season of three good parts. (Top two basically) Coventry were appalling to start with but then came good when it counted. But even they might lose out. There will be three very disappointed teams who are in the play offs when its done and dusted. I support this club because its been our family club for generations. I have no expectations. It is what it is. As it is for most clubs. Even success is transient.

How we managed to score so few goals over the course of the season is beyond belief. We created the chances but with the exception of Maja our finishing was appalling. Yes, we made one or two defensive errors but to my mind the only reason that we did not qualify for the play offs
was the lack of goals. It is as simple as that!

Sixty nine points! As others have said 9 goals, if we had had a goal scorer, who knows, but we did not.

Sixty nine points, an opportunity missed or perhaps, on the flip side, it was a very competitive season with four or five good sides and seven or eight just not up to it.

Roll on next season, with hopefully not such a goal shy turnout and not such a disappointing end.
