    Peterborough United Post Match Thoughts

A nice end to what has been a disappointing, or should that be average season? Our lowest league finish in over a decade fueled by a managerial appointment that turned out to be nowhere near where expectations, well, expected it to be. Seeds of hope with the appointment of MH but will the team that runs out in August be significantly different than the one we saw today.

    Thoughts?

Great touch at the end for the young fan Owen Jenkinson.

A really decent game for a change. It's hard to imagine that we NEVER reached the top half of the table all season right from the opener at Exeter in August where everyone thought that the performance was just because of so many new players gelling together. Apart from a couple of flurries,we never did. Should be a really interesting Summer with MH in charge. Bring back the BBQ,bring back the Cricket match at Wicko and bring back the green tea and fire up the plane for a preseason trip to La Manga rather than running round some Uni campus in Scotland!

An incredibly brave young man. I'm sure he enjoyed his day.

As end of season games go that didn't disappoint. Side put a shift in. Gore & Mpanzu did nothing to want to keep them Sibley & Wilkes did. MH in his 8 games in charge he's delivered play-off results over a season. Home support was up in numbers today he deserved that.

We were in 12th once under Hamshaw. His 14 points in 8 games if extrapolated over the season would be 80.5 points an that would have put 6th and in the play-offs.
Regarding the game it was a decent game and we deserved the win over the 90 minutes, it is good to finish with a win and for some of the loan players to put a good shift in for the last game was good to see. Just the fact that we play so much more football, it is clear what a fit Kelly brings to the team, I hope we can get 30+ league games from him next season. Powell is a wonderful player, yes not all the set pieces are great but another assist for him today and his work rate is outstanding, they have to offer him a new contract this summer, we can't let a talent like that disappear on a free in 2026. I think it will be difficult next season so many Yorkshire clubs in league 1 and Cardiff, Luton and Reading (under new ownership) will be big spenders. It is insane that Luton will still get Premier league money when in l1.
Sibley was excellent today and there is a real talent in Gore as well. To say he isn't match fit he gave a good performance for 60 minutes. A midfield of Powell, gore, Kelly and McWilliams isn't bad for L1.
A good game and a good result

Good game as a season ender deserved the win MH got a big rebuild but deserves the chance think it?s pretty obvious JCH and Hugill aren?t going to play while MH is in charge I think JCH in particular will be gone 2 new centre halves and a big keeper priorities please presuming Haks and Cam leave big lad up front to partner Nombe if poss and some pace PLEASE out wide
Just about every team this season (only go home matches so don?t know about away) have been better footballing sides and out passed us hopefully this will now be addressed by MH already you can see a difference with MHs ideas

Looked like Sibleys goal from where I was sat. He played really well today.

I would like to see him here next season.

Great game, great effort and nice way to end the season. I agree with Shark, Sibleys shot was over the line.

Lets sign Wilkes for next season, he's been great since MH took over
