2 games left, and we can end up 2nd

And its all down to our self!

And we won something along the way 🤪

Wow, this club has taken some steps with Eddie and the new owners. Feels unreal really, when you think about it 😅

Unreal, a complete change of normality for us NUFC fans.

This is our new normal. We have to get used to it. Not arrogance, we're backing it up with results.

We've won 21 of the last 27. Our form is only 2nd to Liverpool.

Arsenal have 5 draws, 3 wins & 2 loses. They've failed to win 66.6% of their last 10.

It's gonna be interesting, that's for sure.

Much prefer being a fan of this version of Newcastle United, fighting for 2nd in the league, winning Cups and qualifying for the Champions League. Rather, than out of all the cups at the first round, playing like Spurs or the filth and desperately hoping that the absolute cloggers on the payroll don't get us relegated.

    Brilliant isn't it!?!

On the rare occaision we lose these days my antitdote is to remember how bad thjngs actually were at one time - and there were plenty to choose from. It snaps me back.

Memories of Rafa out Bruce in, McClaren, Pardew headbutts, Jonas, Keegan, Hughton treatment, relegation x2, Kinnear, Carver, Stadium name, summer after summer no signings and ehen we bought usually turned out shiite, selling our best players, stadium name. The list goes on.

We are in heaven right now.

    Exactly mate!

After everything we have endured, all we have to deal with these days is a few mean words from losers in the MSM who with every passing day become less and less relevant to the conversation around the sport.

15 yrs of our fans & the city being subject to the humiliation and insults inflicted from within by the previous owner coupled with the constant mockery from his paid stooges the media. No recourse as frankly we were rubbish because of the fat clowns neglect.

Now we just laugh at the whining little voices from the media background. Muppets like Sniffo Ferdinose, Jennings the tit and all manner of popping jays in-between.

We're fast establishing ourselves as a consistent top 4 side and there is nothing those whining little trolls can do about it.

To my mind the best and most satisfying thing about it all is that there appears to be no way that this situation can never return to the bad old days which most of us have had to endure with at that time no hope what so ever.

Lads and lasses have we great times to look forward to and to be grateful for.

The snowball has certainly picked up speed and size.
The only question mark that remains for me is Mitchell. No doubt he is doing a good job with picking up promising youth from around the world, but what about first team squad ready players?
If the next two games werent exciting enough we have the transfer window to follow when this question will be answered.

I don?t think we have had the money to bring in first team players, and the youth is non-PSR related spend. We blew our load in the seasons following take-over, not criticising it, we had to do it, but he?s not been able to bring in first team read players? no first team signings since summer 23, and Vlachidomos was obviously part of a PSR swerving agreement with Forest.

He?s had the time to work with Eddie, understand what he wants in a player, and what the squad needs.

One thing though, he was the one who brought in Bunce to oversee the entire medical/sports science area, and while we have had a few injuries, it?s massively better than last seasons, and without that our small squad would have hurt our season and there is no way we would have finished in the CL spots, or be challenging for 2nd? f**king 2nd 🙌

I expect we?ll commit a significant amount of money in the summer, now is the time to really kick on, because there?s no way Spurs will be as bad next season, Chelsea and Arsenal will be buying a striker, Liverpool spent nothing last summer so will spend this season, City are looking to break the Prem transfer record already with the talk around Wirtz, Villa have a deep squad (but their wage bill is massive and will probably force them to trim it, but they?ll still be up there next season)? so if we are going to keep competing we need extra depth, Bunce will need to keep them fit, but Mitchell has got to bring in the players that will keep us right up there and hopefully let us kick on and stay right up there and compete in Europe.

Its almost as if PIF had a plan!! Escaping the points deduction and spending next to nowt in 3 windows has surely been a build up to this window?
Bearing that in mind Im sure that even the owners wouldnt have expected this seasons success with a cup and possible 2 place finish. Ten games ago Id already given up on a CL spot but now Ill be disappointed if we dont make it.
Really looking forward to what Mitchell produces this close season.

The real next step, in terms of CL qualifying, is to qualify for the comp regularly, not as some form of yo-yo qualifier.

Yeah who'd have thought... Owners with a progressive plan to win things as a football club... who'd have thought!

I'm sure everyone understands my position/outlook/stance throughout the season and my belief that it will all come good.

Whilst, I'm not a blind optimist, I do see the bigger picture and being a grizzled project engineer, I tend to look at things objectively rather than with emotion attachment.

We tend to consider the worst case scenario for us and believe the grass is greener on the other side of the fence and NUFC are the only club/team that slip up.

I'm a proponent of belief that we make our own luck in life. The hard work put in by Eddie and the team puts them in the position to achieve what they have so far.

Cup Winners and everything to play for in terms of finishing 2nd/3rd.

The funny thing is that we have all, including myself, considered this season, league wise, as a disappointment/underachievement. We spoke, a lot, about being inconsistent throughout the season.

In retrospect, we're had a few patches of poor results. One thing is apparent is that Eddie Howe's teams are far better in the 2nd half of the season than the first.

There was a murky period game week 5 - 15 where we were not good at all. That was the period when the trolls were calling for Eddie to be sacked. Ridiculous!

During that period we lost 5 games & drew 4 in 11 matches. Missing Botman was a major reason for that IMO.

    That's a total 15 + 8 = 23 points dropped.

Current points = 66 + 23 = 89 points that's 6 points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table.

Mental when you think about it.

We are all agree that with the right recruitment, a solid summer in the market and next season will be very exciting.
